Your Yahoo Group has been archived for use on Windows

Post by Peter Walker »

Hi,

I have been reading your recent messages on trying to port your group and decided to offer my help. I have already archived your group for use on Windows, so no need to panic. You are too late for an automated transfer of your group to groups.io – they are no longer accepting transfer requests.
Luckily, there is a plan B and that is where I can help. Details can be found below. I have been doing nothing else but archiving groups like yours and providing assistance to a lot of groups in the past two months to ensure things run smoothly. So, if you need my help preserving your archives, let me know. What is needed to manually port your group is a full list of your members – your moderator can do that. Instructions here: https://groups.rifeforum.com/transfer
I have been hearing from a lot of people that are concerned that all their conversations are about to be lost when Yahoo Groups deletes the archives on December 14.

I therefore started the Health-Related YahooGroup Archive in order to preserve the archives of important alt-health related groups. We have therefore digitally archived more than 66 top health-related Yahoo Groups complete with attachments, files, photos and links. The catalog includes groups dedicated to Alternative Medicine, Autism, Beck, Cancer, Chelation, Clark, Crystal Healing, Dental, Enzymes, Eyesight, Herbalism, Holistic Health, Hypothyroidism, Lyme disease, Magnetic Therapy, Mercury, Microscopy, Minutus, Natural Thyroid Therapy, Nutrition, Ozone Therapy, Rife therapy, Veganism and more.
The archive contains all available messages, attachments, files, photos and links on an easy to use software program that is designed for Yahoo Groups and very fast. See the video on the home page and the website itself for more details.

The website also tells you where the groups are moving to and makes suggestions where you can alternatively continue your discussions. If our details on your group are not up to date, please reply to this message with corrections.
Yahoo Groups are in the process of purging their archives and you will lose all the archives of your group on December 14. I have therefore made a digital archive of this group that you can download to use on any Windows computer.

The Windows based archive is easy to use and is in fact better and much faster to use when looking at past messages. It is also possible to use the archive I downloaded to upload your group’s messages to your new group on groups.io although that does incur some charges and the software to do that is not ready yet.
I run the Rife and the Rifeforum Yahoo Groups (now both on groups.io) as well as https://www.rifeforum.com . I am an expert on groups and forums and have compiled some advice for group owners wishing to migrate their groups
https://groups.rifeforum.com/for-group-owners.php
It is no longer possible to migrate groups to groups.io as they have now closed their migration tool.
There is a Plan B for transferring your messages and I can help with that. It makes use of the archive I have already made of your group for use on a Windows PC. It is possible to upload that to groups.io if you want to do that. Of course, your members can also simply download the archive from my website and use it individually at home. It is a great way to read the previous messages, but it is of course preferable to have the messages still in your group. https://groups.rifeforum.com/transfer
Anyway, have a good look at the advice and infos on my website and let me know if you need further assistance. Please understand that I am very busy at the moment helping a lot of groups save their archives, especially now that groups.io have stopped their transfer service.
If you have any questions, please look at https://groups.rifeforum.com first, where most questions have already been answered.

In the meantime, I highly recommend obtaining the archive of your group (and others) at https://groups.rifeforum.com including the Windows software. The small one-time service charge per download is what helps to fund the archive and my ability to help you guys move to a better place.
Regards
Peter Walker
