Going off psych drugs

Post by Dale Moss »

This is a long, harrowing piece by the journalist Rachel Aviv on one woman’s experience on psych meds — and weaning herself off them. What is particularly interesting is the concept of “neuro-emotions,” or feelings and sensations that come flooding back as the body detoxes from these meds. From a homeopathic point of view, these are emotions long-suppressed by medication, so their return is a positive sign. But to a patient unprepared for this, it can be terrifying.

There’s a large online community that’s developed to help wean people off these drugs, but this article struck me as a useful resource for anyone going through this process (or anyone treating patients who are going through it).

All such drugs and medications (eg blood pressure tablets) must be weaned off ever so slowly.
The way Sheila Creasy taught was if it was tablets, a new metallic nail file should be used.

For the first dose of the weaning program, the tablet is scrapped once, dose 2 twice and so on. At some stage is may be worth to ask for a lower dosage tablet, eg 100 to 50 to 25, 12 and then eventually off.

The file should be washed clean and dried after each dose.
If it is a liquid, a syringe can be used.

So if the dose is 5 ml, the for the first dose 4.9 ml, second dose 4.8 and so one until off.
To go even slower, first five doses – each would have one scape against the file and so on. Fluids stay on 4.9 ml for 5 doses and then each five doses just reduce by 0.1 ml.

Unfortunately capsules cannot be reduced in this way.
At the same time the indicated remedy should be prescribed in LM or Q potencies.

I like a 14 to 21 week wean.
Basically cut one dose in half one dat the first week.
Then week two - Monday and Thursday half doses (full doses every other day). Then third week 3 half doses. By week 7 the patient is on 50% of their original script.

Can continue or slow things down even more for the next 7 weeks.

I open the capsule, dissolve the contents either in water if possible or in olive oil, then decrease the amount very progressively by removing a small amount every day, as Soroush described.

It is so important that the patient can understand the procedure. I adjust the procedure to the capacity of the patient or caretaker.

HI all,

In addition to the weaning process, I potentize the said drug to roughly a 12c. This tautopathic helps neutralize the side-effects and addiction.

I use a full F series to do that.

Full F series of the drug?

Can you make any comments about what sorts of responses follow?
Do you tend to find effects that go beyond the simple weaning process?

Yes, a full one.

Responses varies individually from nothing, showing that there was nothing left to remove that could be perceived to sensation of lightness to sometimes return of symptoms previously suppressed by the drug but interestingly never (so far!) as strong as before.
