This years flu?
Does anyone have a handle on this years flu? No is high for cases and what I am seeing is a typical. Sx change quickly, within hours.
Starts with sinus issues. Mucus dripping down throat plus a mildly sore throat. (Bell if raw), then very dry (Spongea). Sometimes painful and croupy( hepar). The mucus thickens(Kali bic) snd is yellow green and lobby.
Weakness, anorexia, sleeplessness feels like they are dying.
Low fevers usually. Feels feverish and freezing which alternated with heat, kicking off covers and sweating.
Looks like Gels also - patient can be exhausted, but can not sleep and drags around, looks yellowish and cramping abdominal pains, some diarrhea, with nausea and reaching. Not much vomiting, and the cramps.
This just hangs on and on. Lasting for weeks to a month. Usu > mornings so they go to work, not bad enough to stay home the first week or two, by evenings sx creep back in.
Been telling my patients to follow the symptoms, but having issues with banishing it completely, have been recommending rest and staying home from work.
Of course the holidays and sugary foods , long hours and lots of company were no help.
Suggestions?

Despite the benefits of homeopathy, I always add mega-vit c, Vit D 10K daily, and other nutrients.

I had just the beginning part not the weakness except 1 day when I had a duvet day. Maybe mild fever. I used Narayani Rx. Started with Drawing and Sinus because of all ihe constant discharge which I didn't know where it was coming from there was so much. I also used Kali Bic. I was, taking 3000mg Vit C and an Oregano cold mix. It took 2 weeks to go.

Thanks for the tips. We don’t have Narayani in the USA. And yes it is unknown where the mucus comes from.

Maria,
You might check Paul Herscu’s blog on the flu, although I don’t think he’s updated it since late October:
http://paulherscuepidemics.blogspot.com
I just had a kid diagnosed with Influenza A: sore throat, red face with very high fever (104F.), delusional (and frightened by it). The fever has receded, but I’ve yet to see the boy in person so don’t know yet what the sequelae will be. Had quite a tussle with the parents over their desire to use ibuprofen — how can we get them to understand that suppressing a fever is interfering with the body’s natural healing response?
Peace,
Dale

Me too!!
Especially Vit D seems really helpful with flu(ish).
If I have reason to figure the person is probably low in D anyway (apparently most are, here-and-now) I’ll sometimes go much higher than 10K — and since it’s only for a short time, there’s no danger in doing that.
(If anyone has found differently, please do chime in; but from my reading and casual usage, that’s what I find.)

Re: This years flu?
My middle-aged daughter had something like this.
It started with a lot of coughing and some soreness in the throat. Had her take ferr phos for the soreness and bryonia 30c for the cough - Bryonia is mildly helpful for fever and it may have helped her avoid any fever.
My best trick for most remedies is to give a dose and also put 1 or 2 in a sm water bottle, shake and sip every 10 to 15 minutes for a few doses - really kicks up the effect without a lot of sugar.
Then her nose stuffed up very badly - told her to take Kali bich, and also in water - it opened the nose drainage.
Still coughing some so continued the bryonia, too.
Then she started having great deal of yellow mucous from the nose - more and more yellow mucous.
Had her take kali sulph - helped greatly with the yellow mucous. I don't think we put this one in water.
Then after a few days, she called and was having pains in the face a little below the eyes and felt that any jarring motion would make it hurt worse, and it was worse lying and she couldn't get to sleep much although she was tired - had her take Belladonna 30c and in water, too.
The next day she said that helped with the sleep, but not much with the pain and she thinks it is a sinus infection.
So had her take Heper Sulph Calc 30c and in water.
Two days later, today she says she is recovered ok - just a little tendency to clear her throat occasionally. Told her to take Kali Mur 6x for the mild throat symptom and not in water.
This whole thing took place over about 2 weeks.
However, about 2 weeks before this started (about the end of November),
I am wondering if the following condition, may have set her up for the above illness?
She had passed out one evening, when she woke up on the floor and got up, she had to throw up - then she rested and seemed to be ok.
The next day she talked to two other people that had the same passing out and then vomit.
This is in San Diego.
Her daughter, who is a speech pathologist at a school in San Diego, said that they had several cases of students passing out and then vomiting.
Ya, it is seems to be kinda a strange flu year.
Lastly, I and my wife take Influenzinum 9c (2019) https://amzn.to/2BLuUVO - 2 pellets once a month and we haven't had a cold or flu in 5 years. If we feel something coming on, we take more, and it never has developed into anything.

Re: This years flu?
Have not seen the passing out, but everything else is what I am seeing. Watch out because that whole thing can come right back and start again. Debilities patients can go down.
Re: This years flu?
I’ve been seeing a lot of Pulsatilla’s. There’s a lot of “anger” being brought forth towards someone that did them wrong (feeling like they didn’t get what they deserved). All that profuse sinus stuff, cough, frustrations.
The ones with spontaneous (and usually not common) headaches/migraines, we’ve found the crystal Selenite and my flower essence combo “Protection” knocks it out pretty fast. That seems to be happening with the animal remedies (constitutionally) like Sepia and Lachesis.
That’s been my experience.

Re: This years flu?
That mental of anger and not getting what they deserve may fit very well for a couple of my bad cases.
Tell me more about the Protection combo.
Will try the pulsatilla.
Thank you to all that answered.
Appreciated your suggestions and most of your suggestions were highly beneficial and I have started many of your suggestions if it fits the cases.
Warmly, Maria.
