Will Taylor is offering for the third season of Anatomy and Physiology. I took his first run of the course and was so happy with it. Will Taylor's description of the course is pasted below.
Here is my experience:
It was actually my third attempt at A&P. The first on was a nursing course which I finished with an A, but did not feel that I retained anything. I did all but the last chapter of a homeopathy A&P and still was not satisfied that I was understanding the essence. I suspect even if I had a medical education, I would not be satisfied with those first two baby steps.
Like the other two courses that I took, Will's course was crammed with information, but that was not the point. He warned us, "don't memorize. After you have looked it up enough times, you will know it when you need it." The Wikkipedia is not good for alternative medicine, but it is wonderful for standard medical information. He also showed us many other good ways to look for information. So, if you can develop the conceptual structure to organized and prioritize the information, looking it up is so easy.
I am a liberal education type with very little pure science. Will always placed problems in their historical perspective. To the scientific types, that is the back door, but to me, history puts everything into perspective. Truth is never black and white, to me. Also, he illustrated the medical information with typical problems that we see in the clinic. Given that approach, I really did not have to memorize anything. Finally, he was willing to answer my dumbest questions. Those little but significant touches made a huge difference to me.
I don't think I will take A&P again. There is so much available on the web. I even buy textbooks for college courses. Now, I have a reasonable background, for asking reasonable questions and reaching even something like my own conclusions.
I thank Will Taylor for this third baby step that is now really a step forward.

I've previously mentioned an earlier version of this course, my first time teaching these topics, available as recorded video elsewhere. The provider of those videos & I have arrived at an equitable arrangement for their distribution, but note that that offering consists only of recorded videos, provides for no instructor interaction, and does not benefit from what I have leaned from teaching this course over the past 3 years. This is my 3rd time presenting this, & 3rd time's a charm!
