The autistic child is my granddaughter. At birth I knew there was a problem, at the age of 5 years old her vocabulary was that of an 18 month old, she refused potty training. I even gently put her on the toilet and she somehow flung herself across the room and hit the wall. It was as though she was possessed, some sort of inner strength. The fits she would have were monumental, she would hurt herself by flinging herself to the ground....she was under the care of a homeopath, but my daughter was not very good at reporting and the results were not very good. We were concerned about the child even being able to attend school. I took over the case and agreed with the remedy choice even though it was not working, but upon further research, found a small note that said when xxxx does not work in children use xxx. I did and within a week the child was speaking in sentences, within 3 weeks she was using the toilet. She is now 10 years old, the top of her class and going into puberty. Her father has an extremely high IQ, her paternal grandfather has an IQ that can’t be charted.....I have read where high IQs and autism are common. I recently realized her brother (who is also extremely smart) was on the autism spectrum, he could not eat many foods, he would gag if a food looked a tiny bit different and he would not eat it, he would rather be hungry, my daughter thought he was being fussy and getting away with being a brat. I read an article about an elderly man who had the same problem, he explained how embarrassing it was to not be able to eat but a few food items, the texture, color and taste had to be a certain way. He did not marry because of his embarrassment finally a doctor realized he was on the autism spectrum.......duh!!!!! I had looked at Arg N for my grandson, but never used it..well, after reading the article I gave him the remedy and what a change!!!!! It has been about 8 months since administering his first dose and the changes are remarkable. Within hours of giving the remedy he tried a new food! Both children are not, nor have ever have been vaccinated....I do believe that is why the results of the remedies are so pronounced.

Mary,

I see some of those characteristics in my son, who is 16 years old. Even the slightest taste that he does not like ever so slightly, and he just won't eat it.

I wonder just how slight can the autism spectrum be. His social skills are awesome. He cares deeply about others. His grades are OK. His study habits are OK. He gets along very well with his parents and with everyone else. Even the teachers really like him and treat him sort of like an equal. But that food business does not sound so great.

Yes, I was wondering the same!

We used to have a lot of cases being shared and discussed, but hardly any any more, and I always thought it is so valuable. Mary, thanks so much for sharing those!

Maybe it would be nice to start a thread of "success stories"; and maybe another of "teaching cases" etc.

Hi Roger, I am not very educated about Autism, I used the info the gentleman gave in his letter explaining his eating habits and what an MD diagnosed. That made me realized that my grandson was not being a brat and the eating situation was real and also physical. Arg. N. was a great fit, it was always on my mind, but making the eating disorder a priority made the remedy look as though it was the correct one to give. And it was, the situation with your son may be very different, you have to look at all the symptoms and make an informed decision about which remedy to use.

I know what the second remedy is, it is Sanicula Aqua,....LOL, but for the life of me I can’t find the note that I read showing me the way to the remedy. I believe the remedy prior to Sanic. was Cham. In Robin Murphy’s Homeopathic Remedy Guide Sanicula is the chronic of Cham. I have been looking all morning for the specific note....I must have used a different Materia Medica. or not......I just found a note saying if you see a Phos, with skin symptoms, think of Sanicula. I had to fire up the old laptop and sure enough the last remedy my granddaughter was on was Phos., she was also on Cham. prior to Phos....so to answer the question, the first remedy was Phos. and the second was Sanicula Aqua.
Whew! LOL
