brain dead
A baby was battered by mother's boyfriend here in Miinnesota. A friend just
wrote that his neighbor is the foster parent of the baby. This is an excerpt
from the newspaper article. I erased personal information.
"The baby suffered a “devastating brain injury,” bleeding around the
brain, hemorrhages in the left eye, multiple fractures and extensive bruising.
The charges did not specify what types of disabilities the baby will likely
suffer.
According to the complaint: ...... on April 26 because the baby was not
breathing. The couple’s roommate, 20, was also home and performing CPR on
the child.
“The baby was blue in color, was not breathing and did not have a
pulse,” the complaint said. “There was blood coming out of the baby’s
right nostril.”
If someone is brain dead...is there anyway that arnica might work to help this
baby or would that be expecting way too much?

TRAUMA REMEDIES:
[The unique and salient feature of homoeopathy is found in trauma cases. Whatever may be the condition after an accident, the patient is back to work in twenty-four hours (excepting, of course fractures)]
Arnica! Arnica!! Is it the only remedy in homoeopathy for trauma?
From the time of Dr. Hahnemann itself till the present day, Homoeopathy has been enveloped into clouds of mysterious obscurities. No! Homoeopathy is an exact and accurate science. Precision and versatility is its culture. No one can use his whims and fancies to distort or mutilate it.
Whether a beginner or the so-called experienced or senior homoeopath, he prescribes Arnica for all cases of accidents and that is the end of his knowledge. No. Homoeopathy is an exact and accurate subject.
1. Arnica is for blow on single part of the body. It stops the bleeding, removes swelling and pain in no time.
2. Railroad accident. A person falls down rolling from a speeding bus or train, or his speeding two-wheeler skids on the road and he falls down rolling down or his body getting twisted. The whole framework of his body is rocked. In other words the spinal cord is twisted. This calls for the remedy Cicuta virosa and no amount of Arnica would be of any use. Cicuta virosa is for railroad accident.
3. A person falls down hitting the occipital region of his head while trying to get from behind into a running jeep. He becomes unconscious, hospitalized and after a few days discharged hoping that everything is okay. Six months later his whole left side is paralysed. The remedy is Phosphorus and Phosphorus only. It is foolish and ignorance to give Arnica. Phosphorus is for injury to occipital region.
4. A sudden sit down injuring the coccyx bone. It is Hypericum and not Arnica.
5. One actual cured case may not be out of place here. A person falls from fifty feet high place with bleeding etc. Was hospitalized. His fracture etc. got healed and after six weeks in hospital, he is not able to walk and doctors say they cannot do anything. Brought home and they tried one homoeopath after another in Bangalore; daily doses for weeks and months; no effect.
A reader of my book (he has no knowledge of homoeopathy) buys one dram pills of the remedy Millefolium-10M, goes to the patient , puts a pill into his mouth saying that the next day he could get up and walk. And it happened. [See Boericke’s Mat. Med.—Millefolium. Bad effects from fall from a height.’] The earlier homoeopaths had tried Arnica and Arnica. Is there no other remedy in homoeopathy for traumatic causes?
Boiling tea is accidentally flashed on the face and the lady lost vision in both her eyes. A routinist gave Cantharis and no effect. One single dose of Carbolic Acid-200 restored her vision in a few minutes. [See Calvin B. Knerr’s Repertory of our Guiding Symptoms of Materia Medica—GENERALITIES—Injuries—Burns—extensive: Carb-ac. Carbolic acid is when deeper tissues are affected.]
The foetus is found dead at the eighth month of pregnancy. Before taking the patient to the theatre one Single dose of Cantharis-10M was given and without any surgery or instrument the dead child was expelled in no time without any complication [See Calvin B. Knerr’s REPERTORY—PREGNANCY—foetus; expels dead: Canth, Cimx., Puls]
Has the governments of any country banned the use of Knerr’s Repertory and Boericke’s Mat. Medica?
Has any college or government prohibited homoeopaths from reading the preface and introduction in the book The Accoucheur’s Emergency Manual by Dr. W. A. Yingling?
Why is no practitioner making use of Knerr, Lilienthal, Yingling, Boericke, Hering etc? I have been making extremely thorough, exhaustive and accurate use of these reference works and I have hardly failed in any case.a

Re: brain dead
Hello, Carol.
You should research for homeopatic forms of Hypericum perfuratum, Oxygenium, Silicea, Avena sativa, Cerebrum tota, Vitis vinifera, Melinis minutiflora.
Homeopatized Arnica montana surely helps in some aspects.
If the baby is old enough to eat food or, at least, smooth blends made of it, the following should be given to the baby: coconut oil, eggs (specially yolk) from free-range chickens.
Oil from cannabidiol-rich Cannabis sativa.
High quality butter. High quality olive oil.
Dihexa peptide, which helps an injured brain to recover. Such peptide is very difficult to be found (there are some many fake available), it is expensive and it is forbidden in so many countries.
Breast milk is imperative. And, of course, no processed food at all must be given.

Re: brain dead
What would be a reason not to give the arnica? Try Aconite also.
Please realize a traumatic brain injury means a person will never be the same as before. Lots of rehab, re routing of neurons, etc.
And it may not work at all but worth a try.

Re: brain dead
Severeal remedies can help depending on the specific trauma.
Arnica, borax, nat-sulf come to mind
Remedies do amazing things in brain injury.
I have had experience in cats and in kittens with brain trauma which is nothing short of miraculous.
An example:
A perfecetly heathy newborn kitten, larger than averge (250g) was swung around vio;lemt.y to supposedly demonstrate "kitten swinging to clear an airway".....done behind my back by the vet's wife... I would never have permitted it.
(the stupidest invention of breeders ever)
The kitten who was breathing and eating and crawling just fine before the "swing" was totally ataxic after it, unable to heat seek, unable to crawl, unable to right itself, no suck reflex, no limb co-ordinateion at all. her limbs waved weakly about in all directions.
The vet said the brain was too injured and she should be put down rather than allowed to get cold and starve.
I cannot remember if Borax was the remedy, it was a long time ago. But I used it aqueous, and tube-fed the kitten a couple days after which her suck reflex returned and she could suckle if I held her to a teat. She could still not get there on her own or crawl. That took another week.
Then she could get to a teat and suckle provided one of her brothers did not bump her off. SO... I had to monitor her feeds another week or so, but did not need to hold her to a teat as she had better stregth and co-ordination and could hold on even if her brothers bumped her. In all, by age six weeks you would never have guessed she ever had anything wrong.
She was a most intelligent cat, and lived with me till she died at about age 18.
The remedy was matched to the kind of trauma which was the brain being bashed against the skull with centrifugal force.
Another example:
This one I remember the remedy was Nat sulf. The person was unconscious in a coma for some weeks, after a severe concussion. Nat sulf restored consciousness and function remarkably.
Spinal injury and paralysis also responds to homeopathy. THis is very slow to heal as nerves take forever to grow. A cat's spinal cord takes almost 6 monts to heal from paralysed to full function. I have had three cases in cats. FOr this the remedy is hypereicum, low potency lotion topical constant application and 200C PO daily dose.
Namaste,
Irene

Re: brain dead
WHy not?
I have seen just the opposite with homeopathy - the individual is perfectly healthy and sharp as a tack!
I think you are assuming what happens with conventional treatment of brain injury not homeopathic treatment.
No rehab needed.

Re: brain dead
One of my teachers had a case of massive head trauma in a child who went into a tree in a sledding accident. The initial remedy was Arnica, very high (probably 50M), to minimize brain swelling. Don't know how often it was repeated.
The child did survive, but was damaged permanently. Cicuta was another remedy that helped enormously, though I don't think the boy ever became what he had been.
Peace,
Dale

Re: brain dead
Had a client with severe depression and in his history he related that he had been escorting an animal on a lead and been knocked off his feet and dragged on his stomach. Its not listed in the Synthesis for abdominal injury but in Boericke's repertory he lists Arn and Ruta. Ruta worked for him.
Arnica is way over-prescribed for injuries.

The baby was only a few weeks old when it was hurt around April 23. My friend
is a sometimes pca for the foster mother. He doesn't think she would go for
trying anything even though this friend's kids were brought up on homeopathy.
This is so sad.

Re: brain dead
I think head injuries are very scary tings, and Arnica is a great first remedy for the bashing about, and I have used Arn 1M every 12 hrs for several days - but it does not heal the nerve damage, and needs a more specific remedy for that.
and yes that means more than one remedy is in use though dosed separately.
I often find more than one remedy needed in acute injury situations as some remedies work better with specific tissues and when more than one kind of tissue is nadly damaged, one remedy will result in incomplete haling, it needs more.
For example a sprained ankle involves muscle, tendon, ligaments and responds well to arnica, ruta grav and rhus tox, each used according to its own indications in the specific trauma.
For example a cat bite involves blood stream, nerves, muscle, with toxin in a deep closed puncture wound and responds well to ledum as main remedy with hypericuk and lachesis also as indicated.
Brain injury is no different and needs a suitahle nerve remedy as well as arnica and depending on whether there is more bruising or more bleeding, also needs careful selection. The area of the brain affected also helps point to a remedy associated with the function of the brain in that area.
I think one has to be very careful in assessing what remedy for which damage. And not be shy to change it or add a remedy as the damage area becomes more identified, and the remedy can be more specific.
Hypericum is lways on the list for me, if nerve tissue is injured, it regenerates nerves well and is my first go-to remedy for spinal damage also.
I have to wonder what else is regeenrated by hypericum. But I have only one case to go by and it may have been another remedy that did the trick.
I was treating a cat who had been kicked by steel toe boots and shot with a #2 pellet gun in the private parts, tongue in shreds, tail damage so it hung like a rag partly attached, left bleeding from all head orifices and other parts, unconscious, also with bodywise serious injuries. I gave Arn 1M and rushed to the vet thinking he was so bad he likely needed euthanasia. I had a wise vet. He said "Let the cat decide" and have hom a three-day painkiller shot that would keep him from feeling pain (he was coming round by now) without making him drugged. (I wish I knew what drug he used).
The vet patched him up as best he could and sat with him all night. More Arnica. The cvat ade it crystal clear he had no plans to leave the planet and wanted the help. Next step was to amputate the useless tail, but I said no to that and wrapped it with gauze wetted with hypericum lotion, and I started Hyp 200C by mouth as wel. I still continued ARN 1M every 12 hrs.
This was a long time back and I do not remember the details well, I likely had another remedy involved, but do not rememebr which. I took the cat home and the story of his recovery is long and involved, but to get to the one point he had weekly visits with the vet to check progress and the vet said one day, Gosh his ears had been kicked completely off, but now he can see almost a quarter inch of ear. Maybe he had just missed it before in the fur? He looked puzzled. The edges did not look torn. A week later the earts were a half inch long, and they continued to regenerate at about quater inch per week, till they were full size, and beautifully pristine (none of the previous scars and a tear that had been on the old ears). The vet said he would never have believed it if he had not seen it with his own eyes.
Meanwhile the paralysed tail was no longer being dragged on the floor but was partly raised with just the tip touching the floor. Six months after the attack, maybe a little less, memory is poor, his tail was also as new.
We have a lot to learn still about what homeopathic remedies can achieve.
