I just realized one of the unspoken meanings of the word "scientific". I was looking at www.webmd.com about about silymarin, the extract from milk thistle. And they said: "At this point, there is not enough scientific data to say whether or not milk thistle can help liver problems." I realized that this does not mean that milk thistle will not help liver problems. It means that there is not sufficient data such that every single reasonable person looking at the data would all agree that milk thistle will help liver problems or not.

Of course, there is the implication, especially for skeptopaths, that milk thistle will not help liver problems.

This means that so-called science is extremely conservative. I don't have enough live left to wait for them to all agree that milk thistle will help liver problems. I am going to experiment on myself and see if I can use it to reduce inflammation.
