I have a patient with whom I have been having trouble getting anywhere with his case
Past history of Roaccutane use for acne – troubles started after this NWS (also history of heavy alcohol use and some substance abuse but has worked on these for me. )
I have given him in the past Merc sol (which seemed very indicated but did nothing) and Psorinum - he then moved away for some time so could not follow up with me then contacted me again sometime later after he had found out that this had happened to other people who had had Roaccutane – after that I also obtained Roaccutane as potency 30C and 200C – given in water doses.(started with single dose to watch and wait and then once a week after first dose seemed to be acting centrig=fugally – then he started dosing on his own – I gave instructions for On Worsening of Symptoms) However since taking this – his smell has worsened – however I believe that he has perhaps been taking it too often – and may be aggravating – but hard to tell him when he is so freaked by the smell that he keeps taking it even when I ask him to hold off for a while – though not fully convinced that he is aggravating or detoxing?? And whether needs more or less frequently –I cant find anything clinical to help me with dosing on the remedy but thought it worth a try as he was NWS – the roaccutane. I am now wondering whether to try the Merc sol again – and can only find a couple of remedies that are listed as ‘odor fecal’ and don’t have much about them except that on other scores they don’t seem to fit – nor do I have them.

I have no experience with this situation. Out of curiosity I did some searching and came up with 2 ideas.
Sac-lac is sugar. There is much in this case aggravated by sugar. It is a carbon bases substance which is known to correspond to father-issues in some ways
What led me to look at this remedy was: PERSPIRATION; ODOR; fecal, before stool (1) : sac-l.
Sac-lac is also in rubric: PERSPIRATION; ODOR; offensive (129)
And has generally offensive body odor.
Additionally Plumbum has:
STOMACH; ERUCTATIONS; fecal (1) with vomiting with fecal odor.
It has “marasmus.” as per several MM in ReferenceWorks.
With pts earlier exposure, this remedy might be worth reading.
In an Internet search, several individuals mentioned this issue was resolved when they had colonics and discovered intestinal parasites.

HI Jean yes all worthy of further study interestingly I had Nit ac as a differential after first prescription due to resentment and odours and bromides came up after some searching today – and as a welder – perhaps has some bromide exposure. Thanks so much for your input - I did see that rubric – but this smell is there all the time – but have Sac Lac on my list to study – The FBO (fecal body odour) can be caused by a genetic mutation causing problems with an enzyme in methione conversions – but he hasn’t been tested for that – but implicated sulphur as well

Plumbum has a tense swelling in the ileo - caecal region, painful to touch and on movement; the abdominal walls are retracted, there are eructations of gas and vomiting and both have a faecal odor.
