This is a question that has gone through my mind occasionally, and now it has become an immediate issue. With modern measurements and tests, it's possible to detect precursors of conditions that are highlly likely to produce serious pathology, before they become directly symptomatic. I have a patient who's asking if homeopathic treatment can deal with hypercholesteremia and hyperlipidemia, wanting to avoid the side effects from the various statin medications. I'm sure that the disease state at this preliminary stage would be amenable to homeopathic treatment. However, not having any characteristic subjective symptoms to go on, other than constitutional ones and concomitant symptoms such as rash and allergies, I'm not sure how to target a remedy that would take this into account and help to normalize it. I assume it should be a remedy that can produce heart disease of some kind -- but there are varied possible pathological scenarios, none of which has yet occurred. How have others proceeded in considering this and similar questions?

Dear Rosemary, all disease and all pathology has symptoms of some kind - how
was this condition diagnosed in the first place?. It is more a question of
knowing the course that any given diagnosis is likely to take. When taking
the full case one can then seperate out the common symptoms of that disease
(and rep them if necessary) and hopeful come across some more unusual
symptoms as well. How the client is reacting to the diseased state is always
a valuable way forward.
If there really truly are no sx pertaining to the alleged diagnosis (e.g. a
heart with valvular deficiency might not show any sx but will show up in a
routine examination detected by a murmur) then straightforward full case
taking will probably come up with with the simillimum which includes the
latent sx. How can it not?
