baby teething tablets?

Post by sarahp516 »

Hi All,
I've been using homeopathics for myself for quite a while but am an amateur for sure, so not sure if this is the best group for me but thought I'd ask anyway. I have a 4 month old baby and he is starting to have symptoms of teething. Do you all recommend the hyland blend of baby teething tablets? The ingredients are Calc Phos, Chamomila, Coffea, and Belladona. Or would it be better to have each separate remedy and use depending on his symptoms? Or any other suggestions?
Thanks!!

Sarah

Sarah, I would do this if it were my child:\
I'd just use Chamomilla 200C.
One tablet in a few ounces of water (exact amount is not important), dissolve it and succuss it (shake hard against something, a phone book or your thigh for example, at least ten times.

Dose a few drops from there. Succuss a few times between doses. Let each dose work as long as it helps.

Namaste,
Irene

I find that Chamomilla 6 is usually enough to sort teething if that is the only problem. It can be repeat when the symptoms return. You can give dry or in water as Irene suggests. The keynotes of Cham are whatever you try to do for the child you can't pacify them!! The teething granules you buy in UK just have Cham 6 in them and nothing else.

Hi Sarah
Always better to use one remedy that matches his individual symptom pictures. Chamomilla works for some but certainly not all.
Here is a list of remedies - find the ONE that matches best
We do NOT have 1 remedy for teething, 1 remedy for headache, 1 remedy for measles, etc. We find the one that matches the symptoms that the baby has - the baby's unique symptoms
Homeopathy is about individualizing

It may be Chamomilla, but it may be another remedy that fits better

And here is how to give remedies in water, the way Hahnemann taught http://www.wellwithin1.com/givingremedies.htm

Good luck

That said, as first aid (not chronic prescribing which needs repertorizing always) it has not failed in any case I know of in any species:-)

Sorry, that is just not true. I thought you treated animals, Irene.

As I have said there are many remedy possibilities..........
read through the therapeutics lists for some possibilities..................
I have used many different remedies with patients, depending on the symptom picture

It may be Chamomilla, as that is a common one, but it may be another remedy that fits better

I've had 5 children go through teething and have used about a half dozen remedies to treat it, depending on the specific symptoms. Most were just the run-of-the-mill teething remedies as listed previously, but my last baby went into a Stramonium state when she started teething (remarkable because it's a really extreme remedy and not generally associated with teething) and that's still her remedy 4 years later!

The teething tablets can be a nice option to start with but if they don't work, you can resort to what is the better option anyway, which is individual classical prescribing.

Sheri, It is not your prerogative to decide when I am "wrong" based on what you "think" I do or do not do.
Just because you do not read my credentials in my signature lines or the details of what I write about the dicfference between a local remedy for teething and a chronnic one to cover more than teething -
does not mean I am "wrong" or that I do not have those credentials, or do not use them.
Instead of inventing "thoughts", you could also try reading my responses and credentials so you do not have to ask or invent again.
Nobody argued that.
I reported Cham has worked (fact not theory) as first aid every time I chose it - i.e., as a local remedy.
Facts are not "wrong", by definition:-)
As I said - not for chronic issues (where there is more than just teething to deal with, it may be different.)
You read options.
I reported actual results.
Good for you :-)
It does not detract from what I said.
Namaste,
Irene
