Re: Ebola in SL - Only one case of haemorrhage
Here's a bit of interesting info on Ebola. It links off to the full report in the NEJM and indicates further that Crot-h is unlikely to be the best remedy for this outbreak of the disease. From the data of 106 cases in Sierra Leone, only one suffered haemorrhage.
In another bit of interesting information they also say:

Okay, can someone educate me on what this difference beta the aspartate and alanine aminotransferase means in terms of understanding what the
disease is about in lay language?
Younger people surviving better is not surprising as their immune systems are probably not as compromised.
So here we are back again at nutrition, clean water and other public health issues. Without literally cleaning up the maintaining causes,
homeopathy can be limited I fear
Perhaps cell salts

Taking their chart of symptoms (in the full length article appendix) and adding one feature - loss of fluid - as they say survival depended on mainaining blood volume and using IV, the following general rubrics list occurs:
MIND - CONFUSION of mind
VERTIGO - VERTIGO
HEAD - PAIN
EYE - INFLAMMATION - Conjunctiva
HEARING - LOST
FACE - SWELLING - edematous
THROAT - PAIN
STOMACH - VOMITING
ABDOMEN - PAIN
RECTUM - DIARRHEA
COUGH - COUGH in general
FEVER - FEVER, heat in general
SKIN - ERUPTIONS - petechiae
GENERALS - CONVULSIONS
GENERALS - LOSS - fluids, of
GENERALS - PULSE - slow
GENERALS - WEAKNESS
The ONLY remedies with ALL these general rubrics are:
ARS, RHUS-T, CHINA, MERC.
I stand by China, my first choice in a prior study of Ebola as my personal prevention option, should I need one.
Namaste,
Irene

Ebola in SL - Only one case of haemorrhage
REMEDIES
In Materia Virosa Dr. Shahrdar mentions below remedies as antimiasmatic;
MRBG & EBL (MARBUG & EBOLA)
First degree: PHOS, NUX, RHUS-T, LACH
Second degree: Arn, Bry, Dulc, Sul-ac
Third degree: Ph-ac, Sec
Irene’s ARS, RHUS-T, CHINA, MERC.
Rhus Tox common ?? for first stages maybe later China if something still needed.

Yes, I think China is a potential, and possibly Belladonna for the first stage but my favourite is still Ars.
Another common early symptom that has mostly missed being reported is a measles-like rash and Ars matches this fairly well.
Until the remedies are tested, we all hold our breath.

The symptoms seem to have changed from past outbreaks - from mutation or engineering?
On that basis, would Dr Shahrdar's remedies still be indicated?

Re: Ebola in SL - Only one case of haemorrhage
Both are liver enzymes. When the AST rises, it can do so becasue the tissues are being damaged. In this case it looks like the tissues break down - especially protein - and cause a form of hepatitis called fatty liver disease.
It is usual that you see this when massive weight loss from body protein occurs - eg in fasting for whatever reason - or if an illness is actively breaking down the body as is suspected here.
They have not fully investigated the mechanism for that loss in this case, but I again see a parallel to FIP in cats, where this happens:
The virus misdirects neutrophils (small blood cells that SHOULD be taking the virus out of the body) which have a function in breakdown of muscle tissue - accellerated by the virus in lieu of the normal function.
Whenever great protein loss happens, either due to starving or protein breakdown, the liver is overwhelmed and AST leaks out along with other liver enzymes as the liver struggles with the load. It is somewhat comparable to alcoholic liver cirrhosis where alcohol is metabolised into fat in the liver, compromising liver function.
The liver should handle body toxins. It can not do so if it is overwhelmed.
The blood tests they used on Ebola victims, lacked one or two which would have helped confirm a breakdown of muscle (such as CPK test) so they are not sure HOW the liver was overwhemed, but know that fatty liver from some or other cause, usually results in high AST. In Ebola the AST is VERY high (like 2000 instead of 33 in those who die) and since Ebola kills in an average of ten days, that is enormously significant.
In most illnesses involving the liver, the AST rises less than other liver enzymes. When AST rises more as here, some kind of fatty liver cirrhosis is usually involved.
I agree, in fact this is in line with how much thymus activity they have, which makes sense.
Yes.
Yes:-)

I do not see a change, just a different ratio of what is most commonly seen.
In all cases death is from dehydration of the circulatory system, plus some organ damage necrosis - and in all cases the other symptoms are listed - but not in the same prevalence.
Mutation explains the slight changes.
