HI,
Irene wrote "....These are helpful in low potency" .... which is a
very OK explanation, but triggered me to write a short word
explaining the difference between Scheussler rx's and the usual
medicating potencies. Younger homeopaths may appreciate it.
Most homeopathic medicines are prepared in liquid form - that is as a
mother tincture - And those substances that cant be dissolved in
liquid are triturated up to a point (3x or 6x) then converted to liquid form.
Scheussler's remedies are triturated. The intention being that a
certain amount of the substance will still exist on a molecular nano
level, to be more easily nutritionally assimilated on a cellular
level. That 3grain or 5grain tablet is the triturated lactose
compressed into tablets. And the usual dose is 2-4 tablets.
A 6c or 6x homeopathic pill is prepared differently. Globules are
doused with medicating potency. Mathmatically, 100 globules may
"share out" a few drops of medicating potency, each globule only
getting a fraction of a drop.
So mathmatically the dose between tissue salts and a homeopathic
remedy are somewhat different. To get the same quantity of tissue
salts, one would have to take (for example) 1/4 or 1/8 teaspoon of
the medicating potency, not a fraction of a drop on a globule.
Which is not to say that a triturated tissue salt can't be prescribed
following classical principles, if that's your intention. It is
prepared homeopathically, nonetheless. Rx's such as uran nit,
aur-m-n, sarcodes, etc are triturated in 3x and quite useful for
their respective purposes.
But you're mistaken if you're using a homeopathic globule 6x or 6c as
if its tissue salt and prescribing on Scheussler's principles. It may
not work that way.

I appreciate your explanation. Does anyone have experience comparing tissue salts and homeopathic remedies?

Dr Scheussler had given importance to body tissue salts for curing simple maladies and simultaneously tried to cut short both the number of medicines, and the standard procedure of homeopathic prescribing. This attracted a percentage of the Homeopaths.
