Chemical Burn Remedy?

Post by Patti Mount »

One of our dogs decided to wander into the Men's Room at the Office... managed to actually gain access into where the urinal's are located & thought that one of the deodorizing "Mints" was a yummy treat to pull to the floor & play with... as soon as we discovered the dog was missing we located her (very quickly) on the floor playing with the Mint... It is toxic & the chemicals burned her outer & inner lips a little plus the area just below her nose but it seems that her saliva saved her from any further burns in the mouth... we immediately washed her face & mouth out with Milk which is the manufacturers antidote... she had no further symptoms or acute actions from this.

We have noticed ever since this occurred that she frequently becomes irritated at the site of the burns & claws herself with her paws rather vigorously causing bleeding both inside & out of her lip area which will persist for a few days to a week & then stop...

Homeopathically, does anyone have any suggestions, experience or Rubric suggestions for us?

Respectfully yours,

Hi Patti,

Rubrics might be

face pain burning lips
skin itching - scratching, bleeds, must scratch until it

However, it might be a good idea to look at remedies in the materia medica
(for which I have no handy rubric) noted in case of chemical burn:

Cantharis
Apis
Carb-ac
Calendula (Hering)
Kreos

Also off the top of my head, I would consider CAMPHORA very strongly.

best,

Dear Patti,
I feel Arum triphyllum should be studied and considered for this case.
Here totality includes causation and the symptom complex.
Location here is very important.
Arum triphyllum is an irritant poison. It affects mucus membranes of mouth throat and larynx.
It causes rawness, excoriation and burning of parts.
The keynote for this remedy is picking at lips and sore spots till it bleeds.
I am sending this response quite but for academic interest.
With regards,
Waqar Taji
