I undertstand your points about Fischer and they are valid.
However, the public does not have the experience, history, or understanding to
be so tolerant of Fischer’s weak presentation. Given the lack of meaningful
coverage in the mainstream media or the medical journals, I still have to say
that he came off weak compared to Goldacre and the public reaction at that
event showed this.
Generally, taken though, this essay is a terrific piece, John
