Diarrhea acute

Post by Ellen Madono »

Hi,

I went through a diarrhea epidemic in one household with 4 children and 2 adults. I cured one child. The 4 month old did not get it. Adults got it but I did not treat. The two boys were given sulphur given once and stopped independent of me. Before she called me. I thought the sulphur was working because the vomiting stopped. So I only did the one successful case. But the sulphur boys kept having the diarrhea while their other sick symptoms disappeared. She also tried Ars once with no results.

I finally did the case of the worst boy who had undigested stools. The mother gave lyc once and no results. I said try again. Not sure of the results.

The mother does not understand acute treatment well and was stopping the remedy when she did not get immediate results. She was only looking at the diarrhea as the desired result not the whole case. So the boys case became confusing for me.

My question is if the columnar cells of the gut replace in 4 days and the stools contain soft undigested food with a continuous huge appetite (ie. non absorption,) then we have to wait longer for formed stools and a decrease in appetite. This child of 2 years is lanky and normally has a big appetite with little weight gain. But the sick appetite is larger. What expectation should I have?

Thanks,
Ellen Madono

Hi Ellen, could you re-phrase your question? I don't think I understood it correctly. But for what it worth - he first has to stop having frequent BM. Then his appetite will go down.

Yes I agree, but how long should I be waiting for results? I am trying to figure out if my remedy is not working. If I need to repeat more even though there are no big results since he no longer has the sick symptoms. I see no way to judge the remedy in the short range. Even if he recovers in 4 days, how do I know if the remedy worked. This is not like an acute fever. Maybe there were not enough symptoms to have given a remedy. But he was not absorbing nutrients so I was worried. Gonna call his mom now.
