Commissioning.GP

Post by Soroush Ebrahimi »

Dear Colleagues
I had a call from these guys today to encourage me to join their register £199 + VAT for 2 years where GPs access it and can then refer their patients to anyone on the register. It obviously covers all sorts of comp therapies.
Have any of you heard of it or have any experience of it please?

I was on a similar one – which was run by the NHS one for about 5 years at £50 a year and never got a call. The GP’s may get it in their post but it doesn’t mean to say that they even open it!!

Hi Soroush
I don't know if this is an offshoot or follow-on from the NHS Directory of Comp & Alt Practitioners? I was registered on this for about 5 years for a nominal sum (about £50 quid a year) and it brought precisely zilch. 2 colleagues here in Nottingham have said similarly, and given the general view of us witches (!) that GPs hold, it is likely that this venture would be another complete waste of time, not to mention a greater waste of money.

Its a pity, but it seems that its certainly not the allopaths who really believe in integrative medicine in the UK!
