Dear Rochelle,
Regarding this case. When we give a remedy we are always mindful of exactly
what we expect. If we see some improvements, as is so in this case, but a
persistent mental state, which is still remaining and not reducing after our
remedy then we know we have either a partial remedy or our potency was
incorrect.
You say that:: All she did was moan continually talking very quickly and
hardly taking a breath and I was getting very irritated with her.
A useful exercise to do when we find we are reacting to a patient is to
actuallly step back and look at what it is that is annoying us. In this
case this woman is not proceeding in a healthy direction. She is still
aware of her complaints and is moaning about them, thus they are still
affecting her and this must be viewed as a disease process. If it was a
healthy process it would be changing.
A few rubrics that came to mind were:
Complaining of disease
Intolerance of his complaints
Lamenting about his disease
You said why does she keep harping on about Epstein-Barr. Does she need to
put a name to everything?
If I remember rightly this has been her reaction all along. It needs to be
looked at. Ask her why she needs to have a name for everything. You will
probably get more understanding of her then.

Hi Lisa,
You wrote:-
I have tried to ask her. In fact I didn't even mention it this time but she
said to me "I've been thinking about what you were saying about why I won't
let go of these symptoms and I honestly can't think of any reason why I
should be holding on to them.
Yes you are correct about looking at my feelings about her and I agree with
the rubrics you suggest. However we have left it at the moment - but she
says she will keep in touch. I would like her to see an osteopath that I
trust.

Rochelle
