Is homeopathic prophylaxis a viable alternative to conventional immunisation procedures? Is it effective? Is it safe?
There are stories in the press every day about this controversial topic. We hear horrific reports about the harmful effects of conventional immunisation. Children have suffered terrible side-effects, and some have died as a result of this procedure.
But the diseases that we seek to prevent through immunisation are also horrific. Few parents are brave enough to trust to luck, and do nothing. Is there an alternative, and is Homeopathic Immunisation that alternative?
In a series of three free online interviews, Dr. Isaac Golden, acknowledged expert on Homeoprophylaxis (homeopathic immunisation), talks about his 30 years of research into the use of this harmless alternative to vaccination, outlines the highly successful protocol he has developed, and answers questions for practitioners and parents.

Homeopathy immunisation:interviews with Dr Isaac Golden

Yes, yes and yes:-)

However - use it on a HEALHY person/animal - not a sick one.

The principle by which it works is the same one used in homeopathy during provings, namely that of using a remedy on a healthy individual (although it is not necessary to use it enough to induce proving symptoms, in order to induce homeoprophylaxis - the result of either of which which in Hahnemann's words is:
"Let it not be imagined that such slight indispositions caused by taking medicines for the purpose of proving them can be in the main injurious to the health. Experience shows on the contrary, that the organism of the prover becomes, by these frequent attacks on his health, all the more expert in repelling all external influences inimical to his frame and all artificial and natural morbific noxious agents, and becomes more hardened to resist everything of an injurious character, by means of these moderate experiments on his own person with medicines. His health becomes more unalterable; he becomes more robust, as all experience shows."

(From Organon APh 141)

The beauty of the system is tha ANY remedy can theoretically be used for prophylaxis.
(Not that i suggest using all 5 or 6 thousand of them! Be judicious in selecting what is needed)
Examples:
in breeding animals, a dose of Pyrogenium is a great preventing for life threatening pyometra infections, especially in multiparous creatures.

In treating Bordetella bronchiseptica in sheep or cats (where it is lethal), the Bordetella bronchiseptica remedy used in conjunction with the simillimum for the individual case, can lead to the entire flock/cattery surviving and having resistance to recurrence.

In animals adopted from a shelter where they just got vaccinations and other drugs, and medical history is otherwise unknown, a remedy made from vaccination material in 30C, or from the nosode of the disease - can be used to counter the body damage of the actual vaccine (though it works even better if the remedy is given say twice a day for a week, with legally enforced vaccination on the third day.

Animals have more need for prophylaxis than humans partly because they so often have unknown background and are also exposed outdoors to environmental onslaughts for which they fail to "wash their paws or tongues" in a hygienic way as humans routinely do as a preventive measure.

Diseases which can kill in a few days, are better prevented than run after to help them after the exposure.

Simple, prevention goes a long way where it is warranted:
For example the body perceives the start of an illness as a shock, which is why a dose of Aconitum napellus 200C, for a cat/dog/horse going to a show (or for a vet health check or flying by air) - will keep them from getting any infection doing the rounds at the destination venue. Humans using this remedy at the first symptoms of illness coming on will also nip it in the bud.

FOr milder illness, one can keep remedies handy, to apply as needed.
SO one can be intelligent about deciding what to use and for whom and when and why - individual cases as always in homeopathy.
No way I'd ever use a vaccination for myself or a pet or a family member.

Namaste,
Irene
