I am in Singapore at the moment and my granddaughter starts preschool next week. They look for hand foot and mouth symptoms on the children as they arrive in school. I wondered what are the main remedies for this common childhood disease that I can leave here from my kit that I carry everywhere with me. I know with patients I have given both Nat Mur and Rhus Tox successfully so I wondered if there were any others. Also is there a name in ours reps for Hand foot and mouth?
I was pleased to find out that there is no compulsory vaccinations required for entering school here!!!
Thanks

Re: Hands foot and mouth
Brilliant Jean - Thanks.
Yes I can imagine Borax being good for the mouth ulcers.
No I don't have Borax with me so will bring it out next time.
I have just checked their kit and they have all the other remedies.
Apparently Coxsackie is epidemic in Singapore but so far this school has not had it!!
I wish I had a definite on my 18 month old granddaughter's similimum but I haven't!! Extremely active lively child with no fears. Stubborn but not a temper. Not a cuddly chil but she does cling to her blanket and often wants to carry it around with her. Independant. She also sucks her thumb. Breast fed Eats well - savoury rather than sweet. Likes fish , mushrooms, farinaceous. Likes sour fruits. Eats dried seaweed. She drinks a lot of water (not offered anything else and never sugar!!) Sleeps well and so far has only had a couple of minor colds. She has a bit of a productive chesty cough since the last one and still has a bit of a clear runny nose but since it doesn't bother her I have not given her any remedies. Chamomilla works well very teething or when ratty. Walked at 11 months and had a lot of teeth early. Says odd single words and tries to say anything you ask her to. She understands everything and even knows all the colours. Is very curious and appears to be musical. Even in Singapore she has cold feet and hands a lot of the time. She likes animals. She seems to go from one thing to another in play and is fussy if her hands are dirty but could get that from her anal father - my son whi insists on cleaning her hands when they get messy when she is eating!!! The only thing I have really thought of is maybe Calc Phos. Very much a wanted child - mum had a mis before her and has had one since as wants more children. Parents are both well and high achievers. Dad (my son) probably Nux. Mum possibly Phos.
If anyone sees anything obvious from my description please let me know!!
Thanks

Re: Hands foot and mouth
I forgot to mention another peculiarity of this child is that she loves crunching ice cubes (Phos) and lying on the cold marble floor .
