HPV vaccine comedy

Recently, one of the USA's Republican Presidental candidates, Michelle Bachmann, known to put her foot in her mouth, brought up forced HPV vaccinations during a debate singling out one of her opponents, Rick Perry, Texas governor, who signed into Texas law required HPV vaccination for young girls.
"Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) blasted Perry for the vaccine mandate on Monday, calling it a "government injection" of a "potentially dangerous drug."
Then Tuesday morning, she insinuated to NBC's "Today Show" that the vaccine can cause mental retardation.
"I will tell you that I had a mother last night come up to me here in Tampa, Florida, after the debate," Bachmann said. "She told me that her little daughter took that vaccine, that injection, and she suffered from mental retardation thereafter."
Then the media got on the case when asking Michelle who this mother was, which couldn't be idenfied and led to a brief discussion in media about the HPV danger allegations, now forgotten.
Saturday Night LIve, a weekly TV comedy show, on air 11:30pm for almost 40 years, did a sketch of this issue.
Sometimes, you have to step back from the drama and laugh at the situation, here a pun at HPV vaccine ad campaign.

As the father of a mentally retarded daughter post DPT, you cannot tell me that vaccines are safe!

So sorry to hear that and no one is suggesting vaccines are 100% safe. Yet, while you experienced the worst outcome, there are others who won't be vaccinated and wiill get that illness and may be harmed and don't have homeopaths at their beckon call, like most of the USA.
One of our members had polio when young because their parents did not vaccinate, but also did not use homeopathy or another alternative, so actually being vaccinated may have been beneficial for them. It's a catch-22 situation.
Looking at the USA vaccination list I posted, DPT vaccines have been thimersol free mostly since 2000, some had a "trace" before, newer DTP/HepB combos don't use it.
Did you find out which vaccine your daughter was given?
Is it also possible it wasn't the DPT alone that was adverse but a culmination of different vaccines that the last one took her over the edge? Seems the problem today is too many vaccines affecting the immune system.
Has classical or non-classical homeopathy been able reverse any aspect of that?

Just because Michelle Bachmann is a looney, don't dismiss her umbrage over Perry's forced vaccination law. Perry has taken hefty contributions from Merck and Novartis, both of which he's rewarded with laws mandating their vaccines (and his chief of staff jumped to Merck as a lobbyist right after the Gardasil law).
Merck's conduct throughout has been despicable: they've downplayed the risks of their vaccine, which are considerable, and attempted to bribe other states into mandating its use.

hardly a comedy - sad that so many injured and dead would be referred to as a comedy. Thanks Dale for your comments.
Now the UK is going to use Gardasil the US brand (had been using Cervarix - still bad)
