Hi Dee,
First of all, I would agree with your homeopathic vet. You'll be spending
all your time putting out fires, when indeed this family of cats could use
some miasmatic prescribing.
Regarding the issue of the existence of miasms in animals, I would leave
that debate to others. My observations are that miasms do exist, and with
overvaccination, poor diets, and overbreeding, the miasmatic taints are
increasing in our pets. The philosophical, religious, spiritual, etc.
discussions on the miasms are all fascinating, but don't help me to cure
cases.
As far as miasms v. genetics, why can't both be factors? Miasms are the
energetic influences on the physical body. Miasms direct (or misdirect) the
life force by mistuning it. In turn, the altered life force directs the
body's raw physical materials into expressing their individual/familial
tendencies. A feline example:
A perfectly healthy queen has a litter of 5 kittens. One dad. (For those of
you out there who are not feline-friendly, litters can have multiple dads,
better known as toms). All kittens are orange tabby and white, males and
females, perfectly healthy.
After weaning this litter, the queen is given 8 vaccinations, all at once.
Her cattery has an acute outbreak of a minor upper respiratory virus. 2
months later, she still has a snotty nose, is sneezing, and has gingivitis.
She then is bred again, same dad. All kittens are orange and white, males
and females, 3 live births, 2 dead; one fades in the first week and dies;
the 2 surviving ones get upper respiratory infections (URI) by 6 weeks of
age.
These kittens receive multiple courses of antibiotics, and their chronic
disease continues to develop; and when the snotty noses are finally
successfully suppressed, both the kittens who are now adult cats develop
skin cancer.
Meanwhile, genetically unrelated kittens that are born under identical
circumstances to the above kittens, (healthy mom, vaccinated, gets URI, has
this next litter) have their URIs finally successfully suppressed when they
are 5-7 years of age. They all develop asthma and ocular diseases.
Can you see by this how the miasm is acquired (in this case by vaccination)
and the expression of the weakness procedes along genetic lines?
