Ferrum Arsenicosum/ Case

Hi,

Here is a Ferr-ar case from Sujit Kumar Chatterjee
(Homoeopathic Links 1997 - Spring - Extracted from
EH):

Mr. P., 22 years, an architect, consulted me in
September 1995 for the following complaints:
• Pimples.
• Excessive heat. At night his hands and feet become
so hot that he puts water on them.
• Dislocation of the right shoulder, about three or
four times.
• Pain in joints.

He is a hot patient, has increased thirst and a
craving for sweets and eggs. He perspires a lot,
especially when he is tense about his work.
When asked about his nature, the patient said: 'I
cannot confide in anybody. I cannot trust anybody. I
am very short tempered. I get angry when things are
not done according to my wish. I want them to be done
as I say.' He further added: 'I don't like to talk
much. I have little contact with people, and
practically no friends. I hate company and I
especially avoid crowds.'
When asked what thoughts come to his mind when free,
he said: 'I think of my work, whether my work is up to
the mark or not, whether I am satisfying my clients. I
should be able to do my job properly because a feeling
of failure upsets me a lot.' 'I get tense when I have
to go in for a new project, when I have to meet my new
clients.'
His happiest memory is when he got his first
paycheque.
Dreams
• I am in an isolated house with protective grills and
outside there are wild animals roaming around, like
lions and zebra.
• Abstracted forms, shapes which you do not see in
reality.
Observations
Throughout the interview, the patient had no smile at
all on his face.
I found this patient to be a very strong man who has
built up an even stronger wall around himself, so that
no one can see his emotions. This feeling was
confirmed in his dream. The isolated house with
protective grills represents the patient who is a
strong as iron. The grills are for people who he views
as wild animals, people he cannot trust.
Plan
The remedy given to him was Ferrum arsenicosum 200C, 1
dose.
Follow-up after two weeks
The patient had a decrease of the pimples.
Follow-up after one month
His old ringworm on the face returned, and he was
better in general. After a year the patient is relaxed
and less tense, according to his mother.
Follow-up after one year
The patient told me that his hair loss is in control
and he only had a dislocation of the shoulder joint
once since he started with the treatment. The joint
pains have disappeared.

• Trifles, seem important
(ferr. and ars.)
• Anxiety with fear (ferr-ars.)
• Perspiration, anxiety, during
(ferr-ars.)
• Fear in a crowd (ferr-ars.)
• Heat of palms (ferr. and ars.)
and heat of soles (ferr.)
