breathing problem????

Is anyone here familiar with something like this? 50-ish woman,
generally healthy so far as I know.

"the last 2 days i've experienced a relapse of some obscure breathing
thing ( a recurring esophogus blockage). ... The doctor hasn't been
able to determine what it is, but all i know is that it stops me in my
tracks and as i'm typing this i feel like i need to stand on my head!"

It sounds as though she may be not mentioning a faucial or oesophageal sensation that intuitively feels as though it would be recitified by standing on her head; probably as if something has fallen. It may be worth asking her what she actually feels there: as if what.

Thanks, yes, I'll try to get more detail.
I thought she's describing something in the throat closing (collapsing?), but will have to ask more.

That's okay. Yes, she may have to wave her hands around a little to convey what feels like it's going where, because "collapse" can be in any of several directions (including downward).
