night terrors

Post by Rochelle Marsden »

What remedy/rubric would push the parents away so they can't go near him , when having night terrors. This is a child of 2. I have prescribed but am just typing up the case. I know Stram clings to parents but I don't know the opposite.
Thanks

Thanks - interesting remedies. I don't think he is Ars- I suppose Lyco could be a possibility. I actually gave him Sulphur and there was an reaction within 5 mins. This child calmed right down and sat on Mum's knee instead of rushing around the clinic, getting every toy out, playing for 1 minute and picking up another one. I just wondered if the pushing away a parent during the night terrors as if he is not conscious of what he is doing was in the MM anywhere for a Rx as I know Stram has the clinging.

Thanks Roger - Aconite is an interesting thought. Don't think Opium suits this child who has most of the traits I see in a Sulphur child and sounded like the Herscu model from his children's book. It will be interesting to hear from mum how it worked on the sleep because of the immediate reaction to the remedy. I told her to phone me after a week.

Just FWIW, my daughter used to have night terrors in what *appeared* to be a pretty full Stram context--but it acted only in a partial and unsatisfactory way. In hers she didn't exactly *push* us away, but sort of slapped at us, tried to break free and run (preferably out the front door--still fully asleep). The remedy that stopped them, quickly and permanently, was Lyssin. It also covered the rest of her case, including what we had previously not focused on, rages (long and intense) followed by remorse (clinging, and asking "mom, do you still love me?" as she took in the wreckage around her).

I love Lyssin...

I didn't know it would be unusual to push the parents away during a terror, tho?

I did have a child with night terrors and whole symptom picture was sulphur including the terrors and it worked well. Not wure about the pushing away unless as you say unconscious so can't use that specifically - maybe? maybe not? I would go on all the other symptoms and sounds like sulphur did the trick right away for some other symptoms. Yes, will have to wait and see

Yes Sulphur is what I gave and I know it is not there for night terrors in children!!! It just seemed right for everything else :)
