Dr. Oz did a program with this naturopathic md. Neither of them knows
anything about homeopathy but they chose to talk about it. Now there
is a request for public commentary on the use of homeopathy. Please
use the links below and write a comment.
I personally asked they have an experienced homeopath on the program
since these 2 doctores were incapable of talking about it.
You can access the program with this dr. russ greefield. It is only a 5" segment
to watch if you want.

Dr. Oz, the star of an American TV health program, is soliciting testimony
about your use of homeopathy for your family.
I want you to tell your story. It only takes a few moments. And if you
could ask your patients and others you know who use homeopathy to do likewise,
it will be good for us all.
Here's the link,. Please take a moment . . .

Re: dr. oz and homeopathy
Don't get your hopes up for any dynamic homeopathic moments on the wonderful Dr. Oz program. Initially I was pleasantly surprised in viewing the show; however after viewing several, I see a pattern of a light hearted and incomplete surface information being presented. In some cases there can be a subliminal negative overshadowing on certain issues; ie the homeopathic show where the world was left with the image that homeopathy was OK for aches and pains, but any thing more serious, that was only for the allopathic way - end of story. Knowing the business world as I do I am highly suspect that we are dealing with the wolf in a sheep's skin. Think about it - Dr. Oz, who apparently is not only is a successful medical doctor, but also has excellent TV charisma was been selected as the front man. Although his pay cheque from the show is no doubt substantial, why would he risk it all on a TV program yet to be proven, to put himself in a position to undermine his life's work. Remember he is first and foremost a medical ALLOPATHIC doctor and no doubt loyal to his roots. The show to me is nothing more a light hearted approach to health using excellent marketing demonstrations to appeal the masses who can not, will not or don't know how to differentiate between good information and entertainment.
Tanya, I wish you luck. If I am proven wrong by your efforts or someone else's, then I'll take all this back. However I think the program is nothing more than an allopathic "look at me, we invented or discovered all this stuff ", wherein a subtle and consistent downgrading and downplaying of the alternative medicines will be the norm. It is very cleaver marketing which will fool a great number of the masses. Oh dear, my medorrhinum miasm surfacing again.

I don't have high hopes. These doctors are making a killing presenting themselves as holistic
gurus. Greenfield was a student of Andrew Weil who I really detest and distrust. And my first
reaction to the program was as yours--subtle trashing of what these boys don't do.
I was surprised that Dana Ullman wrote so positively about it.
However, there are lots of public questions and the program is being compelled to address homeopathy.
My push is that they need to have a real homeopathic expert on the show as they are not in a position
to talk about it. They were still pushing the bio-chemical model of science and no time did they mention
that it is an energy system.
They use what they consider to be holistic, but their model for success is totally allopathic. Nonetheless
it is not a hardship to write a strongly positive comment and demand a 'real' homeopath. We should make
recommendations since they probably won't know anyone. And they will look for an MD which, personally,
I would oppose--like I have a choice. However, there are homeopaths who have gotten their CCH credentials
who might be acceptable to them.
So please do write in a comment, rave about our successes, and demand a real homeopath on the show.

I thought that Dr. Oz was very genuine when he talked about Homeopathy and how he uses it at his house. He mentioned that the topic was to give the audience advice to take home and start using. He also mentioned that he is not a homeopathic practitioner and people study this modality for years. The majority of his audience does not have much knowledge in respect to homeopathy so he is meeting them where they are at? I often get much interest when I give first aid talks and prompts people to call practitioners and see homeopaths for constitutional care. Anytime there is media about Homeopathy it gives us the opportunity to educate!
just my humble opinion as I am sure it will ruffle feathers,

Well said Bob. And Tanya also. There was much use of the word 'controversial' and things like 'how could this work?', then saying it's 'good to question science' toward the end...but by that time I felt the influence to not embrace homeopathy after-all coming across.
Very selective use of words to appear to be open but emphasis is the opposite, it's an art and used often.
They also limit homeopathy to aches and pains, stomach ache - but *don't use it for high blood pressure or anything*.
He says his wife uses it but does not comment on how well it works.
At best this may send some folks to buy arnica and nux vomica, but who have no understanding to seek true homeopathic care. A few may look further but overall this piece makes mockery of what homeopathy is- sorry to say.
