Isali,

While I agree that TCM and homeopathy take into account the effects of environment, I think there is a difference. The language of TCM seems more aimed at the "invasion" of the environment whereas I see homeopathy as using the VF's REACTION to the environment to identify the needed remedy. In other words, an individual who needs Rhus tox is sensitive to dampness but has not been invaded by it. There is a subtle but important difference. Similarly, an Aconite constitutional type is sensitive to cold therefore they react to exposure to cold by becoming weakened and secondarily acutely sick. It is not the cold itself which sickened them.

Also, if we hold that Hn and his methodologies are correct, then it is never appropriate to use polypharmacy. Hn, of course, moved to dynamized medicines to avoid the bad effects of tinctures and he tested all his medicines on healthy individuals to understand what REACTION a healthy system produces to the remedy.

To my knowledge, TCM does not subscribe to these principles. If, however, there are true cures being produced by TCM, then somehow it must be acting according to the law of similars (or there is no such thing as the LAW of similars.) All therapies are either similar or dissimilar. This is why I think it is so important to a delineate true meaning of "cure" according to set principles, Hering's, etc. Then we can clearly see what is curing and what is palliating/suppressing.

Ultimately, where I see the distinction between homeopathy and the other systems in general is that homeopathy cures by REACTION to the medicine where other systems rely upon the ACTION of their medicines upon the system. Since, every action stimulates a reaction by the VF, once the action of the medicine has ceased, the system (unless very weak) will react generally in a direction opposite the action of the medicine. Thus, a similar medicine creates a reaction in the direction of cure whereas a dissimilar medicine creates a reaction in the direction of disease. If TCM is a system operating like homeopathy on the basis of reaction of the VF to the medicine then it must be working according to the law of similars. We just have not investigated it from that perspective.

Since we both live in S. Florida, perhaps our paths will cross other than electronically.

be well and best wishes.

It is of course possible to effect cure by using ordinary tinctures that
have not be diluted or dynamised.

Don't forget that Hn discovered homoeopathy while experimenting with a
tincture!

So those using crude (undiluted & unpotentised) medicinal substances are
able to effect cures, but as Dr Swift accurately states, because they don't
know the full range of the properties of the medicinal substance that they
are using, it is perhaps more a matter of luck that they have hit up on an
accidental choice of a Similar.

Good healing
