Hahnemann's Organon of Medicine - Aphorism 15

Post by Ardavan Shahrdar »

Hahnemann's Organon of Medicine
*******************************

Aphorism 15:

'The affection of the morbidly deranged, spirit-like
dynamis (vital force) that animates our body in the
invisible interior, and the totality of the outwardly
cognizable symptoms produced by it in the organism and
representing the existing malady, constitute a whole;
they are one and the same. The organism is indeed the
material instrument of the life, but it is not
conceivable without the animation imparted to it by
the instinctively perceiving and regulating dynamis,
just as the vital force is not conceivable without the
organism, consequently the two together constitute a
unity, although in thought our mind separates this
unity into two distinct conceptions for the sake of
easy comprehension.'

Dear Ardavan,

Aphorism 15 reminds me, yet again, in all my dealings with 'mainstream' NHS
medicine how far 'medical dualism ' still holds sway with the majority of
the population. Homeopathy, however, has never been stronger in its holism
and unitary conception of the mind-body paradigm. This is just as well, as
it does seem one of the few healing modalities that continues to challenge
medical orthodoxy. I have been thinking that I would like to do some
clinical audit among my NHS patients, i.e. give them each 10 lessons in
'first aid homeopathy' a free 'homeopathic first aid kit' and then comparing
the GP referral rate before and after. Interesting outcomes I suspect.

Thanks for all you hard work.

Best wishes,

Hugh
