How to handle with a new Remedy

Hello all,
I have writen before about my Prudence. Now we have probably found another Remedy, that is probably the one that we can use instead of the Glonoinum. We have to research it very carefully. My holistic vet wants to take it through with me.

My question in short: How to handle with a new remedy, wich potention to start? How often given? How long do you have to give it?
I just want to know how you all work with Classic Homeopathy, to get an idea how it works.
