Hermit crabs - when they grow too big for their shell they move to a
bigger one -very hard to get out of the shell once they've moved in, so
much so that it gets carried round with them.

actually moves and resettles without being on the move all the time.
and don't always go back to the original base. Scallops 'nest' but can
also 'jump' a distance when under threat.(Pecten jacobeus). Mussels move
from time to time (Mytilus). Clams burrow, and move (Venus). I think i
need to explore all these more - meanwhile it is all just making me
hungry!

Starfish have that quality of being able to right themselves and
reorientate themselves after being disturbed (although I couldn't see it
in the mat med of the remedy). I don't really see where the other
remedies you mention have that combination of flexibility and rootedness
either but it will give me a good excuse to read them up again.

might have the following characteristic: sets down roots and feels
firmly grounded in a given location but can upsticks and move very
happily and set down equally strong roots somewhere else. This came up
in a discussion but is obviously not pathological in any way .... it
just got me thinking.
