Most of us ascend in potency as a matter of course, but as your
quote indicates, the essential issue for Hahnemann was
to *change* potency. A colleague of mine had a case
which had responded well for a time to a 30c of
Causticum, and was frustrated that the 200 and even 1M
did nothing. All was put right with a dose of 15c.

I often go down in potency after giving 30c. The reason being that the

Dear Lisa and Tanya,
Divya Chhabra has done provings of several remedies, each in 30c, 200c, 1M,
10M, and 50M potencies. I hope she will publish the notes soon, as the
provings show very clear patterns for each potency, in language, dreams,
intensity of expression, and affect, thus giving reliable indications about
what potency a person needs. (About time someone begins to demystify
potency choice!) Since studying with her, I have been much more confident
about recognizing when to change potency, and whether to go up or down.
Many times I've gone from a 200c after awhile to 30c with wonderful results.
Blessings,
Charlotte

ON FINDING A GOOD HOMEOPATH
Wendy wrote:
What Jeremy Sherr refers to as the "great cosmic magnet" works pretty well
to
ensure that patients get drawn to healers who can help them.
The folk who practice in ways you personally may not understand get good
results too.
Like cures like, remember. That works on levels other than just remedies.
What I don't understand is how, as homeopaths, we can happily work with the
concept of what is common and what is individual in disease, and then
totally ignore what is individual in healing!! Hahnemann found a good few of
the real truths in healing, which is why his method alone can be emulated
with reasonable success. But he didn't find them all. This, IMO, is the most
important one he missed. He certainly practiced it, but he didn't succeed in
identifying it.
Dear Wendy,
Hear, hear! Thanks so much for your articulate thoughts on this.
Warmly,
Charlotte

ON S.C. MEDICAL HORROR STORY
Alva wrote:
....The emergency guys looked at the medicine list and shouted for the rest
of
the guys to come in and read it, then told me I needed to make some calls to
an attorney.
They said he should have been dead already. .......
It was the Homeopathics that kept him alive.
I took him off of ALL of the medicines except the one for side effects of
Parkinson's meds and his HBP ones, and I found this Chiro that found out
what was REALLY wrong with him.
His Cervical bone was so far out of place it kept his head from going back
at all.
Homeopathics will not repair mechanical things, but they surely kept him
alive until I finally found someone who could, would actually help him, and
he finally is coming back to me.
We need to LEAVE this God forsaken place!
South Carolina sucks the life blood out of you, and allows "Doctors" like
that to practice here and do whatever they want.
There is the highest death rate in the hospitals here than anywhere else in
the United states.
Alva

Hi Alva,
What a nightmare! But it sounds as if you've finally connected to people
who will listen. I'm so glad you did before it was too late. Keep us
posted on Joe's recovery.
Love and prayers,
Charlotte

ON RESPECT FOR COLLEAGUES
Without calling any individuals to task, I have to say I have a bad taste
from some of the messages disparaging other practitioners and teachers;
although no names are actually mentioned the references are clear. Even if
their methods and approaches may not be exactly what we prefer or agree
with, I believe it is of the utmost importance to recognize the pure
intention and strong dedication of most practitioners, and give the benefit
of the doubt if we're not absolutely sure otherwise. It is corrosive to
individuals and to the profession to make insinuating and cynical remarks.
"Kind words cost nothing."
This is actually a part of the Code of Ethics of the North American Society
of Homeopaths, to not cast aspersions on colleagues.
Best wishes,
Charlotte
