twin case - any doctors in the house?

Post by ehc »

Hello all,

I would appreciate your thoughts on this case. Mother and daughter.

Mother

Diagnosis - variable dilatation/narrowing of intrahepatic and extra hepatic
biliary tree/sclerosing cholangitis/ulcerative colitis. Marked elevation of
liver enzymes. VERY High P-ANCA levels and anti-smooth muscle Ab's. Has been
told by Drs she will need a liver transplant.

Patient has patchy [in blocks] numbness/pins and needles [goosebumps] on
whole body exluding trunk and feels it in brain. Was only on left side of
body and right side of head but is now all over excl. trunk. Stomach
bloating after eating. Worries and doesn't know why. Pain right lower
abdomen when nervous. Constipation - no bowel movement without laxatives.
Biggest fear is not having monetary needs met. Weight loss from 55kg down to
39kg in 2001 now up to 46 kg. Clicking sounds in right ear worse wind or
fan. Can hear her voice in that ear and drops voice down when that happens
and then no-one can hear her. History of colitis. Lots of food
sensitivities.
Patient feels judgment is off. ie. when she attempts to put a cup on the
table she misses the edge and it goes on the floor.
Feels emotionally unstable as in PMT. Very tired, worse if a full nights
sleep - better with broken sleep. Foods taste very sweet now.

Feels sad and shaky inside and feels like crying.

Finds life boring as has not the money to do things she would like such as
travel back to see her family. Angry at mother who was domineering in her
early life and who now wants her to come and look after her. Mother dislikes
patient's husband and children.

Family history of lots of stress. Lost a lot of money in business. Son has
Asperger's and daughter was born with duodenal atresia. Daughter had
operation for this when born. Daughter was 6-1/2 wks prem. Has unspecified
muscle disorder exhibiting as shortened tendons in both legs and little
muscle mass in legs.

There appears to be a family pattern here - patients brother's children have
always had immune problems ie. glandular fever etc and now one has
neurological problems where eyes are exhibting unusual movements and other
symptoms of which I am not aware.
I need expert help on this on re firstly the mother and then re the daughter
with shortened tendons.

Regarding the daughter sometimes the heels drop lower to the ground and she
can walk for short period in shoes that are not built up [usually about 4
inch heels to support foot] but when she notices she is walking flat then
the tendons shorten immediately. She had operation to try to lengthen
achilles in right leg but it did not appear to be successful. Daughter is
very pale and fragile looking. Can see throught skin. Could blow her away
with a gentle puff. Aged 16. Was too weak to go to school with dizzy spells
but have used nutritional supplements, herbal mixture and phos-ac and she is
now at school, putting on weight and no dizzy spells. Just the tendons.

Any rubrics or suggestions for treatment for mother and daughter including
miasmatic would be *very* gratefully received.

thanks for reading and your help

Beverly

Beverly,

From the info you gave on the mother, I am thinking:

Fear of poverty
Generalities, side, Left upper and right lower
constipation
Syco/syphilitic
worse long sleep
better short sleep

Nux-v covers it well

As for the daughter, I like the rubric generals, delicate constitution, in
nervous persons

hope this helps
