sensitive to vomiting

Post by Amity & Jason Engleson »

I was wondering if there were any rubrics that would be good for someone who starts feeling sick to the stomach when she hears that other people have the stomach thing. It could be someone even that lives far away and they never see. Of course it is much worse when it happens at home and is fearful it will happen to her. It affects the way she eats as she thinks she may get sick and may not want to eat her normal things. She did have a horrible food poisioning incident 13 years ago and it stems from this. She has gotten sick since then and is not as bad as she would have thought-but still the thought affects her. I should mention this is just for vomiting. Diarrhea, flu, fever, pneumonia, any other thing does not create these feelings. I was thinking anticipatory anxiety or something as fear of illness is not necessarialy true
Thanks

Mind; fear; vomiting, of: (17) acon, apoc, ars, bar-c, bell, cadm-s, colch, con, digox, ham, ign, ip, jatr, kreos, lach, nux-v, puls,

Possibly because of the aetiology Ars maybe the best one if other symptoms fit

Hope this is helpful

You need to open the case up and ask why this is happening and not
take it at face value - maybe she is intensely sympathetic to
suffering, hers and others, so you would use that rubric. Seems to be
quite a lot of fear and anxiety though - could be panic attacks that
are centred around the stomach and vomiting and they just appear to
have emerged 13 years ago. 'anxiety felt in stomach' (quite a large
rubric). I think you should delve a bit further personally.

Of course I am going to go deeper. Just trying to figure out rubrics that pertain to this. She is very stoic like and from what I know she does not want to appear weak so will not really share a whole ton..although she is starting to open up. Maybe vomiting is a weakness for her..it makes her vulnerable in some way and she doesn't like that..is there a rubric for that?? I will have to ask about that.
Thanks
