Burning feet-Update

Post by Rochelle »

After 18 days there has been no change with the Ars 1M. As she has just said to me on the phone - the neurology dept haven't a clue , said it wasn't nerve pain and signed her off. Her doctor wants to put her on the anti depressant Amitriptyline as this can work for nerve pain but as it isn't nerve pain she has refused it.
I am going to try Erica's suggestion of Silica - 1 dose 200.
The feet feel normal temperature although burning inside.
She is an aromatherapist but I feel that if it was the correct remedy it would work anyway. She is staying off using peppermint with clients!!

If the burning feet weren't in the case at all, what issues might the case be focused on, and what remedies might you be considering?

What are the other areas of difficulty in her life--internal or external--and can you identify any underlying assumptions about people / life that might signal anything??

It depends on what is behind the issue

It can be a B vitamin deficiency, B12 and B1 and B6 have been implicated.

It can be a digestion issue/acidity

It can be a circulation issue secondary to another process

Etc......

Whatever is the cause, will lead to a different group of remedies if one is needed.

Also, aromatherapy in my view would be contraindicated whilst undergoing homoeopathic treatment. The oils are so volatile, it is not only peppermint she would need to avoid contact with. If she must continue with these, then I would not bother with high potencies at all.

Hi Rochelle

Burning feet may also be connected to the liver. The burning is a distress signal from the liver. (do a google for liver + burning feet) Does she pass stools that float or sink , dark or pale ?

Does she have indigestion attacks like bilious vomiting, headache etc ? Irritable ? Thin ?

The above are just confirmatories to clinch the bilious constitution. Can also try organ support for liver.

I would suggest no coffee, no tea, no white sugar, no fried meat or anything fried, lots of raw vegetables, green leaves, fruits, moderate milk along with the constitutional. ( no hot water drinking)

Also, sleeping on mattresses made of natural fibres will help. No synthetics.

Plus, ask her to do these pranayama kriyas ( breathing exercise)

1 . Shitali: Curl your tongue like a tube and protrude it outside the lips . Now inhale through the mouth. (count 1 to six). Exhale slowly and rhythmically (count 1 to twelve). Do this six to eight rounds.

2. Shitkari: Fold your tongue towards the throat keep it touching the palate. Keep the teeth closed( not clenched) but wide open the lips. Now inhale one to six counts and exhale one to twelve counts. Look at this video

http://www.fitnessforworld.com/yoga/shitkari.htm
The above breathing are body coolers and can be practiced anytime she feels hot. I have heard aloe vera cream helps locally.

The transcendent meditation is said to cool the body tremendously.

Last but not the least, check for blood sugar.

Thanks Venkat ,
I will print this out for her.
She has had her blood sugar checked. She is hypothyroid and takes a minimum dose of Thyroxine.

There is your answer then surely. Treat the hypothyroidism.

The hypothyroidism is being treated with 25mg of thyroxine and her levels are now normal I believe. In reply to Roby she has been tested for Vit B deficiencies. She was seeing a nutritionist who was also a doctor about her thyroid problem who used glandular remedies (?) and adrenal support but got fed up because she was taking so many tablets. Presumably it wasn't working.
She has had a lot of stress in her life, mainly from 2 marriages.
Which ever way I repped Calc came up top. It (200C) helped with her mood/lonely feelings initially and possibly with the palpitation initially but not with the feet.

But the hypothyroidism isn't going to be cured with thyroxine and the burning feet is a sx of hypothyroidism. If you just treat the burning feet you could end up with suppressing it. Will she not consider coming off the thyroxine = a better sx picture.

I really don't think we are allowed to suggest that a patient comes off a prescribed medicine and I understood that thyroxine was OK because it is something that should be in your body any way so mimics the thyroid balance. She tried glandular thyroid supplement with the nutritionist and that obviously didn't work.

Of course it has to be her decision and you would obviously work with her on this, if necessary coming off the medications slowly without causing any harm but as I said the thyroid dysfunction will not be cured by this medication but Homeopathy could cure it. There is nothing safe about thyroxine. Her choice but you've got to want to do it as well.
