Advice needed please

Post by lambertsmail »

Hi,

My name is Robert and this is my first posting here. I visited an HD about
five years ago in an attempt to help with anxiety, panic, heat, mild
depression, constipation, general energy levels and mild acne. There are more
specifics but I'll leave it at the basics above. I was prescribed the
following:

Phosphorous LM1
Phosphorous LM2
Silicea LM1
Belladonna 200C
Opium 200C
Carcinosin ?
Iodum ?

Absolutely zilch. Totally gutted, as homoeopathy was the most fascinating
alternative therapy I'd read about. I knocked it on the head and pursued a
more mind focussed solution. Transcendental Meditation (TM) was the first
alternative to have any effect on me. It didn't go deep enough, quick enough
for me, so I stopped eventually. But I'll always be grateful to TM for what
it did do. Other mental techniques followed and I feel I did progress, but
the underlying problem has always seemed to be there. I kept going back to
the few homoeopathy books I have, and the internet articles, looking for a
reason why it didn't work first time around.

Two weeks ago I decided to drastically cut down on my meat consumption. I had
previously tried other diet approaches but they hadn't done much. After about
a week something changed inside. There was more calmness and centredness. My
greasy skin improved and I noticed less pimples on my face. I reviewed my
case, checked my books and maybe foolishly decided to self-medicate. I don't
see myself as a Nux Vomica person, but it has many aspects similar to what I
feel inside. I purchased 6C and even more foolishly decided to take it on a
night I was consuming alcohol. Woke up the next morning with no hangover,
mmm. Decided to continue with it, and over the next few days maybe, maybe
noticed a slight improvement of mood. Even more calm and less edgy. My
sweating palms also seemed to be slightly improved. After reading 'More Magic
of the Minimum Dose' I convinced myself I had anti-doted something with the
Nux Vomica.

I have now decided to try Lycopodium 30C, as it is a remedy I always thought
my HD would try, but she never. What I'm basically asking for is some
guidance please. When it comes to nosodes, miasms, vaccinosis and suppressed
symptoms I'm lost. I so much want this to work, and so much want to believe
in it, but I need some direction. I'm dubious of going back and getting
Phosphorous LM1 again, and repeating the whole process. All the HD's in my
area seem to have the same letters after their names, so I don't know if
there's any point in trying another doctor. Plus my HD will have had five
more years of experience now.

I'm from the North-East in England by the way.

Any comments and advice would be most appreciated,

Thanks,

Robert.

Dear Robert,

Thank you for your continuing hope/belief in homeopathy. Healing can be very frustrating sometimes.
Even as a practitioner, I have had my own frustrations with my own case in trying to find remedies that impact me curatively. (And I do work with a homeopath on my own case). Sometimes a case is hard to read and sometimes the homeopath is not the right one for you and sometimes important things are inadvertently not given in reporting a case which would impact the selected remedy. However, I would definitely try again with another homeopath and not self-medicate. There are many good homepaths in England. I do not know just where you are.

I believe the following statement to have a great deal of truth:

The person who treats himself using homoeopathy, has a fool of a patient!

So my advice would be: Seek yourself a good Homoeopath.

Ask them where they studied and whether they adhere to Hahnemann's
instructions and or do they follow some modern school of homoeopathy.

Then make your choice! (not easy I know)

Good luck

Soroush

Dear Soroush,
I totally agree about self-treatment. I would argue that our blind spot is
what our personal disease is.
Having said that I don't believe that it is 100% necessary to find a good
homoeopath to get the bearings right. There are numerous ways to tackle the
mountain.
I have met numerous people who by 'sheer chance and coincidence' end up
taking the right remedy without seeing anybody at all 'reliable'. Perhaps
they said the right prayers - I really don't know.
Love and respect,
Stewart
