Re: seeing ghosts

Post by Rachel »

i have another important question, if you don't mind, about my case yesterday. this lady has 3 important themes as i see it that all need to be covered by one remedy: a) she has had epstein barr and CFS for about 20 years; b) she has regular gallbladder attacks and c) she is highly clairvoyant, a medium even.
i've never prescribed for someone who was a medium before. this lady described to me ghosts who would come to her with unresolved issues. she has currently shut this ability down because she finds it too disturbing and since having become a mom she has no time for all the emotional upset it causes her.
i'm familiar with the rubric 'clairvoyant', but since i am so intent that whatever rx i choose include this part of her being, i'm thinking to combine that rubric with others to be more comprehensive.
my question is, what other rubrics? i found delusion, ghosts, spectres, sees. however, my opinion on this matter is that she is not deluded. i believe she sees these things. i do not find her out of her mind. is it ok to use a rubric that starts with 'delusion', if in fact i believe she is not deluded?
thanks again for your opinions.

so the paranormal experiences are a characteristic of this woman--not a pathology unless she defines it as a problem.
however, is there anything with her refusal to work with the ghosts and their issues. a fear? selfishness? repugnance? etc?
as for the delusion/not delusion: sankaran says you can take the delusion as a normal state if you can't find any other rubric.
he also notes using the opposite rubrics when you can't find one that direction corresponds.
i once treated a woman who had past life remembrances and took the case of these remembrances when i ran into a problem
with her giving me enough of a case to work with in the present. it did work very well, but your case is not quite the same

If she is not deluded in an acute form, and you have to remember that 'delusions' can be real for many so you would use the delusion rubrics (i.e. it doesn't matter whether she sees ghosts or not), then you have to think what is needing curing in this instance. Is it because she is clairvoyant or is it because she doesn't care for the upset it brings her. If the latter, for example, then you could use the rubric 'horrible things, sad stories affect her profoundly' - then you are addressing the sensitivity. Important to know what it is that needs curing otherwise not part of the case.

Sorry meant to add - 'delusion, sees phantoms' would be a useful addition.

this is very interesting... i would say the rubric you suggest, horrible things affect her profoundly, is probalby going to be useful in my case as the pt emphasized how empathic she is. she can't do mediumship as she feels what these spirits feel and it's very painful for her.
but does that mean that if her clairvoyance was not an issue for her, if she were comfortable with it, that clairvoyance or seeing ghosts or whatnot, would not have to appear in the rx i choose??? i have heard opinions both ways on situations like this.

That is my opinion also. Unless it needs to be cured, it doesn't need to be considered or repped. but in this case, her reaction to it is part of the case

It will depend on whether she tells you that the whole clairvoyant ability is an issue or what she actually witnesses with it is, big difference. But if she has the ability to turn this off maybe she can de-sensitise herself. So it seems to me that it is partly an issue, or a problem with her so if it were me I'd probably factor it both in and out when building the case, to see how it changes rx choices. Smoothing out her sensitivity, harmonising it could well reduce her abilities to be clairvoyant but mostly it seems that she doesn't want to deal with the emotional content, so it is a bit of both? Likely that her simillimum will have clairvoyance in the sx picture, such as Phosphorus for example but there are many rx, Phos is just an obvious one when you think of CFS and gall bladder porblems.
