Isopathy? [was: Aph 56 - Organon 6

My understanding of "isopathy" is that it means to give (generally the potentized version of) the same substance that was presumed to cause the problem. What does that have to to with "taking a substance from someone ... and giving it to same someone"? Doesn't that refer to what's called auto-nosodes (a topic with which I have very little familiarity, but thought that was the name)? So maybe this is just another terminology problem??
