There is a mysterious conspiracy going on against homeopathy. I would like to comment on it. World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a statement against homeopathy that “Homeopathy has no cure against any disease and diseases like malaria, influenza, diarrhea, T.B and AIDS should not be treated with homeopathic medicines”. The statement has not been confirmed yet although I have written so many emails and letters to them not only at main office but also to the local representative based at Islamabad Pakistan. But not yet received any confirmation or detail neither from them nor at WHO official website. The WHO statement in different format is still floating in all national newspapers and giving bad names to homeopathy.
Another issue is of litigation that is going on between homeopathic council and ministry of health. Ministry of Health first de-notified Homeo Dr. Abbasi the president of NCH. The president was got relief from the court and was restored. In that retaliation, Ministry of Health immediately restored Registrar H/Dr. Ismael Khan on his post. NCH then again went in court and registrar was again suspended. Now both cases are in court, decisions are still pending and tussle between Ministry of Health and NCH is on full swing.
Yesterday on 12th September 2009, at Geo TV in its “50 minutes” talk show, this conspiracy was jolted again by declaring that homeopathy is quackery. I also participated in the program. I think, it is a great conspiracy going on against homeopathy with special planning. In my opinion, this time, it was co-sponsored by PMDC and PMA. The talk show was totally biased and even the anchorperson Mr. Abdul Rauf who is also the executive producer of the program in his live transmission said “MAI AAJ BIASED HO RAHA HON”. The program presented one-sided views and was a true display of exhibitionism where homeopathic community’s point of view was intentionally not taken.
All steps are mare attempts to make up the mind of people of Pakistan and to get ready to face ban on homeopathy in Pakistan and possible and expected dissolution of National Council for Homeopathy. I don’t know when we will awake up and understand this conspiracy. If the time passes away without our notice then in future we should not be blamed on any other person except to our own community.
The complete detail and WHO letters are available here http://nch.ipbfree.com/index.php?showtopic=1837

Re: No confirmation yet from WHO statement against homeopathy
The conspiracy is not so mysterious! Certainly not in the UK, or the USA, or in any other country where Big Pharma has such huge financial and political influence. Here in the UK attacks on homeopathy are regular. The media carries these attacks willingly, and will not publish (or are reluctant to publish) any of the responses we sent. They are also reluctant to publish anything that is critical of conventional medicine (ConMed).
The WHO situation has developed from a letter written by the 'junion' section of the "Sense and Science" organisation - a collection of so-called scientists commited to ConMed, and vehemently opposed to homeopathy. It was carried willingly by the BBC, and has spread from them
The Homeopathy Media group, of which I am part, http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/ARH-Media/
has worked hard to get some sort of recognition from WHO that this statement was wrong, and was quite contrary to a report WHO wrote some years ago now that came out positively for homeopathy - and so was never published! The BBC has retracted its initial report, marginally, but not very publically.
What we all have to remember is that homeopathy is getting more popular, more people are turning to it, and away from ConMed. This is a threat to Big Pharma, and they are organising hard to discredit us. They have huge influence within governments, especially western governments, and in large measure pay for the Media through their advertising, etc.
So getting the homeopathic message through is really quite difficult, and appears mysterious, until you recognise that we are facing a massively powerful opponent whose business is not doing well at the moment, and homeopathy is seen as a major threat to their business.

I never saw ConMed before but boy, isn’t it a telling appellation—as in, they’ve conned me into using their BigPharma products, unfortunately. Teresa (Northern VA)
