The Organon's only reference to Simple Single medicinal substances, now?

Post by John Harvey »

Dear Soroush,

I accept that you no longer make the earlier contention. Do you seriously contend that your reply below is responsive to my request for a quote of the sentence containing the term "Simple Single medicinal substances"? Where is this sentence that I asked for?

Cheers --

Thank you, Soroush. Do you notice the many differences between the phrase highlighted there and all the versions you have so far mentioned? The two most significant are your omission of the word "medicinal" and your omission of the appositive comma. These are both strong clues as to Hahnemann's intent in the phrase.

Dear Soroush,

If my belief in any idea was enough to stop me from thinking about it dispassionately, perhaps I too wouldn't waste time reading evidence and arguments for competing ideas, let alone try to respond to them or to questioning of my beliefs.

And your "single remedy" and this goop you call "simple substance" may, for all I know, have some meaning, some connection, and some merit. But since even you don't seem to be able to say what you mean by either term, despite my efforts to pin you down to having some particular understanding of them, they will remain for the moment terms with no reference, won't they, and therefore with no relevance to the conversation from which you have mightily distracted us, which in itself was a sufficient distraction from all useful discussion of real homoeopathy.

Cheers!

John
