Layered cases

Post by Dave Hartley »

Hi Lisa,

Yes, those sections of Organon are speaking of "zig-zag" prescribing,
accessory symptoms, one-sided disease, and then along about Aphorism 189,
Hahnemann begins reminding us that TRUE one-sided disease is pretty
unusual... provided that one pays scrupulous attention to "the rest of the
living Whole"

Aphorism 270 mentions the "zig-zag" in chronic cases, as
"intercurrent" -then Aphorism 271:
"..the most beneficial procedure is to give *SOLELY AND ALONE* the best
adapted homeopathic chief medicine in uninterrupted succession ..."

As you mention, case taking is really where it's at with homeopathy.
Clinical training/observation &/or preceptorship is of utmost value here,
and also in case management.
A case which an experienced Hahnemannian homeopath, with substantial chronic
disease case management considers to be a "layered case" might just well be
that..
-BUT.. like with many other "advanced" aspects of homeopathy, this has been
taken out of context and mis-interpreted by people who see multitudinous
layers in every case.

Look for layers; find layers... Simplistic? YES, but so are WAAaaay too
many of the folks who're maundering on about "the vaccine layer" , the
this-layer, that-layer, and so on.
When this concept is so abused, homeopathy is reduced to allopathic-style
practice of giving medicine after medicine for each tiny disjointed fragment
of what otherwise would be a proper homeopathic case.

Dave Hartley
