Hi Carol,

Herbally and nutritionally there are quite a few possibilities to
choose among.
I think your first step, if you want to try that, should be to stop
into a health food store and browse thru their "reference" book section
and look for ideas. And google those ideas, and google "clogged
arteries legs"--and I think "intermittent claudication" might be a
relevant one to google too? (Isn't that where the person gets leg
cramps due to inadequate circulation because of a blood clot in the
leg?)

There's a book called "Nutritional Healing", by Balch, that's a
terrific resource, and I recall that Whole Foods keeps a copy out on a
table for customers to browse thru. It's not a complete answer, but
it's a terrific starting point.

Note the possibilities; then start reading on possible helps for
*other* and possibily unrelated issues you have--insomnia? allergies?
skin issues? etc.--and see what herbs or nutrients come up repeatedly,
for *your* various complaints. Those are most apt to be useful things
to try first. (You could also consider e.g. cayenne, nattokinase, fish
oil / omega 3 fatty acids**, niacin--all of those are circulation
enhancers and "blood thinners;" but that's only a starting point; you
should consult an herbalist or naturapath--or else start reading!!

Good luck!
Shannon

Look at Crateagus tincture. The Indian homeopaths I have studied with recommend it at 6-10 drops 3x day but it takes 6 months to declog the arteries.

Hi Carol,

My suggestions:

I'm not sure about herbs (not my field and no refs handy here), but
these ideas:
Supplement:
* High dose of both Vit E (like 1000 IU)
* and fish oil (or salmon oil or krill oil), like 6 caps, they work
together;
Eat a diet that is "anti-inflammatory":
* No wheat, preferably no corn either (Brown or wild Rice, millet,
if you must eat starch)
* Lots of RICE BRAN (1/2 cup a day) which is like roto rooter for the
blood vessels due to beta-sitosterol in it; you can eat it lke cereal
cold or hot or put it in soups, stews, gravies etc. (Ener-G brand is
good in USA, sealed for freshness)
* Extra virgin olive oil (EVO), forget vegetable oils they are
inflammatory except small amounts EV coconut oil, trim animal fats
and replace with EVO.
* Go low salt, add in high potassium foods.
* Do NOT stint on (good) fat
* Eat plenty of protein from meat, fish and eggs.
* Avoid all starches - it''s what clogs the vessels
* Eat high color fruit right before exercise, not other times:
Berries of any kind, mango, passion fruit, accai, gogi, etc
* Eat lots of onion, garlic, tomato, spinach, dandelion, collards,
beet leaves, artichoke, asparagus, and other high antioxidant foods
with low carbs.
* Check blood glucose to be sure it is always below 110.
* Do non-weight bearing leg exercises like stationary/bicycle or
spinning or sewing (with a foot treadle).
* Do yoga exercises for this. (get good book from lilbrary or onlinie).

Namaste,
Irene

Tincture of Hawthorn Berry (Crataegus in Homeopathy) & Arjuna
(Terminalia Arjuna in Homeopathy)
is said to clear clogged arteries.
A google search may be done before posting hate mails.
This advice is not in line with classic Homeopathy.
Confessions.
