Re: Lyme Disease Help
Jane Cicchetti is a true classical homeopath. I studied with her for 2 years. Her live cases were fascinating to watch and discuss how she chose a remedy which usually didn't match the students repping choice. She definitely represents the art of homeopathy. Anyone who may be in the area looking to learn, she puts her all into material prep, lecture and desire to instill dedication to the practice of classical homeopathy.
There is an English book translated from German on minimum.com about Lyme and has a section on Aurum Arsenicum and includes a proving. Anyone use this remedy? Is the proving on-line? Other noted classical homeopaths contributed. http://www.minimum.com/b.asp?a=alexp

Re: Lyme Disease Help
Hello Marika,
I am not a human homeopath, but a homeopathic veterinarian. I do not usually contribute to the list, however, in seeing your request for help, and having seen my husband suffer so badly from Lyme Disease, I want to offer you hope in what my experience has been using homeopathy to help him. He did have a large number of symptoms to go on, but in time what I did was go back to causation + symptoms. He has been on Ledum in LM potency, in medicinal solution. He’s doing very, very well on this as we work our way up. Prior to his asking me to help him through the use of homeopathy, he had been on a 6 month course ( perhaps it was a year ) of high dose doxycycline. Within a week of stopping the doxycycline his symptoms relapsed 100%. He experienced everything from swollen, blue, painful limbs to high fevers and irrational irritability. This disease can truly be devastating. I wish you the best in finding help from a homeopath. I firmly believe it is the best course to take. I’m sorry I do not know of anyone in NC.
Best,
Roxanne

Re: Lyme Disease Help
i think ledum is a great lyme remedy.
however, one needs to look at the totality of the case.
i used homeopathy for my lyme which affected my nerves.
very painful and resulted in bell's palsey. my remedies
were mainly my constitutional although i did take ledum
in lower potencies at the beginning.

Re: Lyme Disease Help
Hi Susan,
I know that is so often the case (that an experienced prescriber's
choice may not match students' repping choice), and always do love to
hear the reasons. What do you recall? I know that sometimes it's
because the rubrics chosen did not represent the truly important--or
not the truly characterizing--aspects of the case; other times the
needed remedy is not very well represented, and needs to be recognized
by "knowing the remedy", not likely to get there by repping (tho being
flexible with method of repping can make it more possible to find small
remedies that way). Sometimes the experienced prescriber *notices*
things, or recognizes the importance of things, that a student (or even
another equally but differently experienced prescriber) may not;
sometimes it's just that the "feel" of the case does not match the
"feel" of the most-repped remedies, etc.
What's your memory of the reasons for her choices differing from her
students'? And (sigh) that's another reason why it is sooooooo
valuable to do live casework (mentorship or etc.) with an experienced
homeopath. How lucky you were to have that chance!!

Re: Lyme Disease Help
Don't you have to kill off the dead lyme cells with something like
sarsaparilla tincture while using the allopathic medicine or even homeopathy.
I'm sorry if i'm out of line here..i haven't read all the posts.

Re: Lyme Disease Help
I used Aur-ars. in one case of Lyme, mainly to calm down the M/E state (the Px was having major trust issues). It didn't do much on the physical level, but the more usual Lyme remedies (Ledum, Borrelia) did. My impression after reading the German book is that their Lyme cases may be slightly different than ours (but I don't have a large enough sampling here to spell out those differences).
Peace,
Dale

Re: Lyme Disease Help
Tanya and others,
To clarify for you, since you did not understand, and for anyone else who did not understand that by “causation + symptoms”, I was referring to using the totality of the case as it presented in its one-sidedness = symptoms, PLUS using the causation. Causation referring to the how/why the disease develops in the individual. Many people make the mistake of not considering causation.
Please refer to literature for an explanation of one-sideness of cases if you are unfamiliar with the term.
I apologize to some people for my stated simplification in sharing what I had found effective in this particular case. I did not realize there were people on this list who still converse with the line of thought of using a this-for-that type of prescribing. What I said was said simplistically given that all reading understand the given implication that one considers the entire case, the totality of the case, always. That said, all lurking, or making incorrect assumptions beyond what is written, never choose a remedy based on this-for-that prescribing. You may very well end up chasing your tail. Also, never make assumptions about what someone else writes…or says….or does! I will try to be more verbose for those who might read into what I have said and make assumptions, and confusion for others.
Regards,
Roxanne
