Until the past few years I was unaware of anyone I worked with ever antidoting a remedy. In recent years I have seen it more and more often. Could it be that we are more sensitive? Or could it be the daily exposure to concentrated and enhanced chemicals (just look at the fragrance they put in laundry detergent, hand soaps, room fresheners, candles, and don’t get me started on the ‘enhanced’ flavors in foods) has created an atmosphere of chemicals that can antidote?
As to the discussion about camphor – there are so many forms of camphor (natural and synthetic) with a wide variety of chemical forms that are all called ‘camphor’. Various forms of camphor are used in everything from rust prevention products and insect repellents to ingredients in cough suppressants, but they don’t all come from one source. From edible camphor used in China and India to an embalming ingredient, there is no standard for the use of the word - there are even some products such as ‘white camphor essential oil’ that may not even contain camphor.

Subject: Re: [Minutus] remedies to store separately?
LOL, now that would have taken a LOT of camphor, way more than e.g. what I'd inhaled that afternoon!
It reminds me of JW's explanation of why mint is mentioned as a possible antidote. He said no need to worry about e.g. mint toothpaste, mint chewing gum, etc. When H said "mint" in the Organon as possible antidote (for Lyc, I think?), he referred to the practice then used of covering the floor in mint as a way of (bug and?) odor control?? Which would be a HUGELY greater exposure than anyone would get these days!
about camphor,
Hi Dave,
A "story" about camphor. Way back when people wore the same clothes everyday and when they
got new clothes they wore them over the old clothes, it was said camphor was used as "pest control" and odor control. Have you heard about this?
