Doctatorship -- when medical and military thinking MERGE...

Dear Friends,
My newest article provides an analysis of how much "military thinking"
and "medical thinking" has become one and the same! This article just
published in ODE MAGAZINE (this increasingly popular award-winning magazine
is a bit like THE UTNE READER in that it maintains a very
positive/altruistic/green focus towards various local and world issues).
It is quite remarkable how much military thinking has "invaded" our
medical thinking (and visa versa), and it is sad how problematic, how
questionably effective, and how expensive they both are. Judge for yourself
by clicking to:
http://www.odemagazine.com/doc/63/military-medicine/
Ultimately, we need to change the way we think about "combating" disease
and "waging war" to create peace. Although some other writers have compared
medical and military thinking, I think that I have extended this metaphor
further...and in ways that show how much the modern medical paradigm creates
its own dis-easing processes...
