Cataract surgery and lens replacment

Post by Jean Doherty »

Did have it done on Left. Had a long wait, 4 hours ,and got cold so
bronchiectasis nearly flared up. Aborted by Pyrogenium.
Sight from replacment lens was so good afterwards felt very
optimistic but have felt quite paronoid about the Chloromycetin drops
and cortisone drops prescribed. I usually sail through things but
have felt so disorientated and ill. For a short while last evening
restored some balance after a dose of Strontium Carb which works on
bone marrow [chloromycetin capable of causing aplastic anaemia ] but
this am eye very injected and sore. Have repeated drops during night
but they did not give any comfort . I think the main purpose of the
drops is to prevent any scar formation as well as to prevent
infection. A red eye not good. A few doses of Arg Nit did not
help. I believe am commencing to function again after Merc Corr 1M
Next day , think am coping ,eye less red, , worried vision slightly
less but that probably imagination . Have repeated cortisone
several times as danger of scar tissue and sometime yest' afternoon
some tearing pains . I think the remedies can cope with any possible
infection. Have used calendula several times also..

I think will be OK but have not enjoyed process, I will seek help if
get worse. from Casualty or A tentative suggestion of my worries to
local GP not really received and surgeon not available ,Jean
