anyone know ....(agave sweetener)

It is labeled by the mfr. as low glycemic but I have found it raises
my blood glucose fast and by 50+ points from a couple of
tablespoons. I've tried it alone from

.html, both the low glycemic raw organic and low glycemic organic.

From their FAQ:

I have raw honey and it doesn't raise my blood sugar as fast or much
as blue agave sweetener.

I tried the Purely Decadent brand of coconut milk ice cream which
uses agave as a sweetener, also raises my blood sugar more than their
equivalent soy ice cream using evaporated cane juice.

Other diabetics may have better results, I was disappointed. It may
be overall healthier than refined sugar.

I do not know about agave, but I do know that years ago when I went to Dr. George
Goodheart (original developer of Applied Kinesiology) that as part of my treatment he had
me take Tupelo honey to stabilize my blood sugar, advising me that this is the only honey
or sweetener (at that time) which stabilizes blood sugar whether it is low or high. He said it takes about 15 minutes to do so. Sometimes I had to take a tablespoon every hour since I was very sick and it was very effective.

I put Tupelo honey into Google search and got 3 pages of stuff about a pop group called that and a restaurant before I came across anything useful and then it was "sold out"!! I bet there is no chance of finding this in UK unless someone knows different!!

It is a Florida honey. I know it is very reasonable priced at 2 pounds for $11.00 since it is rare but I do not know if they will ship it to you and what it would cost, but I do not see why not? Anyway, the website is www.sleepingbearfarms.com . There may be other places. It can be purchased at health food stores in the U.S.A. so maybe a health food store there would order it for you.
