Trying to come up with a rubric....

Kind of a confusing situation. This is a 9-year-old girl with attention difficulties. The rubric I'm trying to pin down is this:
Her ability to do her schoolwork/homework is extremely erratic. For example, when she is working on math problems, one moment she is able to remember basic math facts, and the next, she struggles to come up with the answer to the simplest addition and subtraction facts. One moment she can remember how to spell a fairly difficult word; the next she can't spell even a simple word. Her attention wanders wildly. She will become distracted even in the middle of writing a word, and if she isn't constantly redirected to her work, she doesn't get anything done. That's most of the time. Then there are minutes when she simply soars through her work, without any intervention at all. It's almost as if her memory and/or her intelligence gets switched on and off all the time.
Any ideas on a rubric that would cover this?

Well, here's a rubric that MAY apply... I searched on "changeable":

MIND - INCONSTANCY - thoughts, of

The rubrics for "eccentricity" and "capriciousness" might also apply. I also wonder about "two wills" and "exalatation of fancies..."

At least by looking through the remedies in these rubrics, you might get an idea which remedies come across as being particularly changeable in these areas, and it could help you think about a remedy you might not have thought of?

Just saw a similar situation where B complex plus sublingual liquid
B12 worked wonders. Any time the brain seems to ping pong like that
you might consider adding a nutritional component to the plan.

She is that! But the mental difficulties don't seem to arise from that. There seems to be a genuine "ping pong" effect (excellent description--thanks, Donna!) in her *abilities.*
Thanks to everyone who answered--gave me some good ideas to think about.
BTW, what is olib-sac? I don't think I've ever heard of that.
