expelling baby teeth

Post by Helen Tucker »

Is there a remedy for ejecting baby teeth? My 8 year old daughter has her permanent tooth completely grown in, right behind her baby tooth which won’t come out. It is lodged in there tight and refuses to budge.
I have to take her to a dentist to extract it. On the off chance that homeopathy might have an answer to this problem, I am posing the question here first. She’d rather not have to go to the dentist. After they put amalgam fillings in my mouth, I don’t trust them all that much either.
Thanks,
Helen

Hi Helen,
First is to see whether there's *room* for the baby tooth to come out
on its own. If not, it really might need a dentist's assist.

I *thought* I had been taught that Tuberculinum is associated with baby
teeth not coming out--but now I can't find *any* reference to that at
all! But I don't think I dreamed it... In general I have gathered
that the most successful way of treating teething disorders is simply
by the overall symptom picture. What remedies has she had, and what's
helped her so far?

And I thought I had seen a mention of one of the Calcs but again I couldn't find anything on it!!

I have used Baryta carb 30, 200 for this before. Also Syphilinum,
Silicea once with good results.

I have had two kids with this issue and with the right remedy, the tooth has just popped out without issue within a few days of the dose.
In both cases, the remedy was whatever matched their symptom picture - in other words, their chronic remedy. One was Calc-C, the other Veratrum Album. I believe for the first one I did use the Teeth, dentition difficult rubric.
HIH!

A few weeks ago, I posted an inquiry about expelling baby teeth. Based on recommendations here, I gave my daughter Calc phos. It did loosen the tooth just ever so slightly. Then the next day, while my daughter was biking, she tripped, fell off, and had the bike fall down on top of her—right on the problem tooth. No other part was injured, except that tooth. How coincidental is that? Can remedies cause timely accidents? ;) It got dislodged and was loose. But it STILL would not come out.
Our homeopath suggested switching her to Tarentula Hispanica, which is closer to being her constitutional remedy plus the added rubric of “slow dentition.” Two days after that, the tooth fell out. No dentist needed! My daughter was very pleased.
Thanks always for all your help in everything.

Nice! :-)
Just FWIW, calc phos is also a big one for slow dentition--in fact,
it's a 4 in my rep. It does seem that the key, really, is getting the
*needed* remedy, and this is a good case in point. Actually tarent
isn't listed in my rep for "slow dentition", *but* you--and obviously
your h'th--recognized it as being more particularly suited to her,
overall--and it worked! Good one. :-)

I posted my experience with this problem around a year ago, but will repeat! My daughter's milk teeth are very attached and for two years no milk teeth fell at all (she's now 11). I tried remedies recommended by list members, including Calc, Calc Phos, Sil, Bar-C - nothing. Then I gave her Ignatia for something unrelated that really connected in with her personality - lo and behold, 3 milk teeth fell within 3 weeks, without even going through a "wobbly" stage. As far as I know, Ignatia doesn't even connect into the dentition issue.

We move away from totality and constitution so easily, but this really taught me where the best results for this kind of thing can be found.
