Good News for Canadian Homoeopaths Ethyl Alcohol!

Hello everyone,
So....I went to the liquor store to buy some more vodka to make up my
aqueous dilutions. I asked again about the documentation needed to purchase
the ethyl alcohol. The clerk there confirmed what I had learned from my
phone enquiry to the same store...about needing a prescription from a
doctor.
As she seemed open to conversation, I decided to outline my problem, telling
her what I needed it for, and that it seemed rather inconsistent that it was
only accessible in one province. And that I certainly didn't feel that it
should be necessary to involve anyone else (ie. doctor or pharmacist) in
this process.
To make a long story shorter, she was very helpful and suggested that I call
the LCBO info line, which I did.
I outlined my quandary to the customer service person. She did not seem at
all surprised at the request, and promptly told me that I could fax a letter
to the Quality Assurance Director and perhaps something could be done.
So last week I wrote a letter to the person she indicated (see details
below). In the letter:
-I introduced myself as a homeopathic practitioner
- Told him that I had a dilemma with regards to making up my remedies
- That I needed the higher proof alcohol to medicate the blank pills so
that they don't dissolve
- That I was aware that it was available in Quebec and many states in the US
over the counter etc. etc.....
- Included my address, phone number, e-mail etc.

Low and behold....I received a reply (in only a week) that says that I need
only to present the letter to the LCBO store, or other supplier and that I
have the authority to purchase the ethyl alcohol!
Also, that I am required to keep copies of all purchases made, the name of
the vendor, the date and the name and amount of product purchased, and to
provide this info. to the board upon request.
The permit is for one year, and I can renew it at that time with an updated
request letter.
Well, it certainly pays to ask, doesn't it!

I don't know if this person and fax number applies to all of Canada, so you
might want to confirm this at the LCBO info. phone number (above).
