allergic to penicillan while taking remedy?
Re: allergic to penicillan while taking remedy?
Has anyone heard of someone having an allergic reaction to penicilan while
also taking a remedy? in this case...a infection from a cat bite...then ledum
and hypericum.. and then hives all over. there must be some connection.

Re: allergic to penicillan while taking remedy?
The two are completely separate - penicillin allergy will trigger due
to the state of the immune system plus the presence of penicillin as
the allergen.
Taking a remedy - any remedy - isn't going to stop that.
(Allergy is a chronic disease, and no single dose of something is
going to overcome it instantly.)
The cat bite is a separate issue.
First aid I use is Lachesis 200C as well as ledum 30C and Hyper (200C
or 30C) for cat bites.
I dose all three in rotation starting every 15 minutes, till visible
symptoms and pain abate;
then taper the dosing over the next 2 days.
It's worthy going the extra mile on this preventive strategy, as cat
boyes othyerwise can be nasty.
This regime has worked every time (lots of occasions at cat shows
over a few decades) - and those who refused it and used allopathy
instead, got very ill indeed on several occasions.

I would suggest the only connection would be that the immune system is down because of the cat bite....and that the allergy to penicillin was there before.

my additional thought is that with a compromised immune system,
the body cannot withstand the toxicity of the penicillin.

Irene, why do you feel the need to use so many doses, so often? It is generally unnecessary!

Re: allergic to penicillan while taking remedy?
I'm not sure what you mean?
The people who got bitten were most grateful for the advice that
worked:-)
I consider it very appropriate to dose as needed which is what I do
as it states above... "in accordance with symptoms". That is a basic
principle in homeopathy as I understand it. So for example a mild
case will need one dose each the first day - repeated 2nd and 3rd
days - so as to ensure no potential for tetanus etc. But a severe
bite will hurt more, have more damage, have more potential for harm
and will have more and longer-lasting symptoms, and thus need more
doses.
In most cases, only 2 or 3 doses will reduce the symptoms very
significantly.
I do not see any of that as either inappropriate or unnecessary.
In any case if there is any doubt at all about cat bite dosing, it
would be far better to dose a little too often than to risk blood
poisoning and tetanus by dosing too little, and completely failing
the case.
In emergency like this, the symptoms are a very good guide, and I
stand by my approach (a very well tested one in practice) of dosing
according to symptoms as above.
I disagree that the approach matching symptoms is "unnecessary".
Instead I find that frequent dosing in severe cat bite emergency
while there are symptoms, is actually necessary and effective.

Re: allergic to penicillan while taking remedy?
Another basic homeopathic principle is "do no harm".
What I mean is simple...why do you use 3 different remedies, in succession, for one problem? Even an emergency should not be treated this way!
I have successfully treated a cat bite with one dose of Ledum 9C. Why do you feel the need to use Lachesis 200C, Ledum 30C AND Hypericum (200C or 30C) when they are likely unnecessary? (If it's Hypericum that is actually needed, you would have to go thru the Lachesis AND Ledum, to get to a remedy you actually need!?) What if an INDIVIDUAL needs Arnica? Bellis Perennis? any other remedy that would be suitable for THEIR SYMPTOMS? Do you not believe in "minimum dose"? Why do you constantly feel the need to recommend higher potencies than are probably needed? Why do you develop "protocols", when a helpful guide would be MUCH more benficial? Do you AT LEAST include all of disclaimers you added below, to your original statement, when you are passing out this info? What happens to the people who are harmed by following this protocol...those who will have aggravation? How do you help them?
Why do you not list remedies, and which symptoms they would help to alleviate, and leave it at that?

Re: allergic to penicillan while taking remedy?
It's not one problem -it's an urgent need for preventing a number of
problems in an acute situation.
>
Lucky break - I've seen that fail. Also seen any other two fail.
I've never seen the combination fail - nor in emergency (since the
symptoms fit) does it ever cause a proving symptom.
So if you want a certain fix - this works.
If you prefer not to use it, that is your prerogative.
A freaked out cat at a cat show can do some serious harm - and it needs
some serious attention to prevent serious consequences. It's not worth
fooling around, trying to see if a bit less might help.
There has never been an aggravation - nor a need for other treatment (in
many many cases over several generations - the protocol is one that has
been handed down) - and that is good enough for me.
The idea is weight the pros and cons and the risks:
* to do no harm..... Too little remedy does a LOT of harm in a cat bite
situation; better to err on the side of safety;
* to cure... too little remedy will result in severe problems and a need
to run after consequences that should/could have been prevented.
This is very different from a minor scratch or some such where you can
apply a little remedy and add more if it does not work. Cat bites put
serious germs right into the blood stream in a closed puncture wound.
>
I've yet to see a cat bite with Arn or Bell-per symptoms.

allergic to penicillan while taking remedy?
well...her foot is much better. swelling gone. but she is still itching from
the reaction to amoxycilan and the skin is pealing off her hands, a common
reaction to allergy to that stuff. so i gave her a twice diluted water dose of
sulphur 30c.

Re: allergic to penicillan while taking remedy?
Yes, Irene, it IS one problem...it's a CAT BITE. We are not talking about what could be, or might be, in the future! That, you would address as you see it. It's easy enuf to see if the cat bite is progressing into the blood stream (indicated by increasing redness around the puncture site) A "freaked out cat" can do harm, no matter where it is...even in it's own home. You seem to think I don't understand this. I most certainly do!
When you choose the correct remedy, in the correct potency, do you consider yourself lucky?? I certainly don't! I consider that my experience and work has enabled me to help the patient IMMEDIATELY...and that is GOOD!:))) If you think these 3 remedies are needed for cat bites, why don't you market this combo...and then see how many problems come up, because you are being sued! Most people won't alert a person who has suggested a "protocol", for fear of being told that they couldn't possibly know what they are talking about!
You speak of "needing" all of these remedies in order to reach a cure. Why can you not understand that you CAN cure, with one dose, in a lower potency? Why do YOU "freak out" and give more remedies/higher potencies than needed? Why not keep your head and give appropriate remedies to the symptoms/patient? And again, why not simply write up suggestions (and why they would work) and hand this out as a protocol? It seems to me you are using a shotgun method of "healing" rather than the principles of homeopathy!
