Subject: A HUGE thank you!
First of all, sorry that this is a general email to everyone - I just wanted to thank you all so much for all the supportive letters and emails that I have received both prior to appearing on The Wright Stuff yesterday as I am extremely grateful to you.
There are quite literally hundreds of emails here and I am now doing my best to get back to you all individually as quickly as possible - but wanted to get this brief email out to everyone in the meantime.
In case you missed the show, it was lively to say the least but I managed in the available time to get a few good points across - including really majoring on the animal trials that demonstrate that homeopathy works - beyond a shadow of a doubt. Simon Singh was not familiar with these trials so was perhaps a little non-plussed. I also managed to get the point across that it is unreasonable to complain about the 'lack of scientific evidence supporting homeopathy' when according to the British Medical Associations Clinical Evidence website, only a mere 15% of the conventional medical approaches used today have ever been scientifically proven to be of benefit.
Of course these shows are limited in time - but I was amazed at the response from the presenters and also the celebrity guests on the panel - they were fantastically supportive of homeopathy - and of the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital .
Right after the show, I received a call from the Sunday Express, who are doing a feature on Simon Singh and Edzard Ernst's book - having watched the show they realised that the piece that they were doing was wrong - and I provided them with a more balanced perspective. I am not sure when this is going out - it will be in the "S" supplement at the end of May. I will let you know the date as soon as I can.
So, a victory for homeopathy I feel. Even if you are not a homeopath, it is vital that we endeavour as practitioners to support our colleagues in other disciplines as all of complementary medicine is under threat. Homeopathy is a soft target for the Pharma industry, as you know, due to the fact that its effects area not readily understandable - scientifically - at the moment. However, other disciplines will continue to be attacked as well.
Let's keep fighting the fight and I will continue to keep you info rmed. (Of course if you don't want to hear about these developments please just click on safe unsubscribe at the bottom of this email and we'll take you off our distribution list right away.)
(A quick thought - if you forwarded the last email on - thanks! It may be a good idea to forward this one to the same people too so that they don't think that I have not got back to them.)
Warmest wishes
Jayney
